God @ Work in the PSD

God is good; All the time. All the time; God is good.

Trinity Lutheran Church and TLC Preschool, Casa Grande, AZ

It is impossible to overestimate the faithfulness of our great God! In just over a year Trinity Lutheran Church and TLC Preschool, Casa Grande, Arizona, went from 8500 sq.ft. on 4.5 acres to a 15,000 sq.ft.building on 4.5 acres. Here is their story.

For some time, both Trinity Lutheran Church and TLC Preschool were experiencing God's exponential growth and were bursting at the seams. The church and preschool were constantly finding new ways to share space, but needed more. About five years ago the ministry bought ten acres of land with the confidence that God would continue to bless the church and preschool. However, with building costs on the rise, building a new facility was becoming a dream that was further into the future.

Almost out of nowhere, the local United Methodist Congregation (UMC) posted in the newspaper that they were going to be selling their property to downsize. God was working!

Breakfast Bible Study: Being Dad

Redeemer Lutheran Church, Huntington Beach, CA will host a Breakfast Bible Study on Saturday, November 12 at 9:00 am led by Scott Keith, Executive Director of 1517 and Adjunct Professor of Theology at Concordia University, Irvine. Scott will be speaking on his book "Being Dad: Father as a Picture of God's Grace" dealing with the way fathers, and the subject of fatherhood, are treated in modern culture. Keith brings his experience with family, students, great mentors and friends to bear on this subject which is crying out for attention. Equally, he brings his Christian faith, a scholarly eye for detail, and an ear for story along on the journey to help us navigate a path to a better country where the Father blesses His children and is honored. Breakfast starts at 8:30 am in the Fellowship Hall followed by the presentation at 9:00 am. RSVP to the Church office at churchoffice@redeemer-lutheran.net or call 714-846-6330. PSD YouthLead

A leadership retreat for high school students led by high school students

YouthLead Training had its beginning in the hearts of teens. A meeting of teen representatives from various districts asked LCMS Youth Ministry to create a leadership development training designed specifically for teens. For over four decades, LCMS Youth Ministry has hosted an annual leadership training, led by a team of peer-elected teens for teens throughout our synod.

It is with great excitement that we bring YouthLead back to the Pacific Southwest District after a brief hiatus. Our team of teens is eager to invite you - high school students and leaders - to spend the weekend in the mountains of Arizona as we worship, study, and walk A Walk Made Worthy.

YouthLead will be held November 10-13 at Prescott Pines Christian Camp, Prescott, AZ. Visit the PSD website for more information.
