Tidbits from Tracy
A note from Chapter President, Tracy D. Miller, Restoration 1 of Tucson & Deep Canyon Roofing & Contractors
It is an honor and privilege to again serve you as President of NAWIC Tucson Chapter #122 for 2022-2023. I am excited in a big way about the new year. Please let me know what you are interested in learning and how the chapter might better support you. Our core value to strengthen and amplify the success of women in the construction industry is executed on through input from each one of us on how we can better support each other and other women in construction.
September 14th was the installation dinner for the new NAWIC board for 2022-2023. Thank you to those of you who were able to attend this exciting membership dinner.
Certainly, the new board has great ideas for meetings, community service, and membership collaboration.

At our membership dinner on October 12th, I gave a presentation titled “Know Your NAWIC.” The turnout was great, with many guests. Our chapter continues to grow year after year, and this was the perfect opportunity to showcase NAWIC. Also, a slideshow presentation was shown in remembrance of our Co-Founder Shirley Dail. Thank you to Laura Vertes for the wonderful job she did putting together the slideshow.
On October 14 & 15 I was able to attend the Pacific Southwest Region Fall Conference in Denver, CO. It was a fanatic conference! The theme was “Elevating Women.” I made many great connections with some awe-inspiring Women. If you have not had the opportunity to attend a NAWIC conference, I highly recommend it.
Speaking of NAWIC Conference, mark your calendars! The NAWIC Pacific Southwest Region Spring Conference will be held on April 28 & 29 in Colorado Springs, CO. I plan to attend this conference and am looking forward to this event. Hopefully, more Tucson members will be able to participate with me.
I encourage each NAWIC member to volunteer if there is any way you are able. Remember, NAWIC’s success is contingent on its membership’s participation. We have many exciting events planned for 2022 - 2023.
I look forward to seeing everyone at our November 9th Membership Meeting. Thank you to Leah Mein for booking Diana Charbonneau, Development Coordinator for IMPACT of Southern Arizona to speak at the meeting.
Honored and Humbled to be Your President,
Tracy D. Miller
