Get ready for cooler weather

Hope I'll see you at the amazing Kentucky Book Fair on Nov. 6th in Lexington, KY at Joseph-Beth Bookstore. This is the first time at this venue, so it should be fun. They have promised to have the Vampires Don't Wear Polka Dots graphic novel and Sleepover at the Haunted Museum. If you have any holiday shopping to do for a young reader, hope you'll check out all the great authors and their books (and me too!)

Remembering

In memory of my son Alex, I've been working with Isaiah 117 House to furnish a brand new boys room. My appreciation to all the friends and family who have donated in his honor. It is coming together and by the end of this month, it should be finished with it's skateboard theme! Fingers crossed that the boys love it.

Also remembering Jerry Pinkney who passed away from a heart attack in October. He was one of the most heralded children's book illustrators. His books received multiple Coretta Scott King Awards, 5 Caldecott Honors & a Caldecott Medal, among many other accomplishments. His work lives on in the hearts of his readers.

Hurrah!

Congratulations to Stacy Wurtz for signing up for a free read-aloud

during the fall Children's Book Week and winning  A BOX OF 50 AUTOGRAPHED

BOOKS FROM ME! She teaches at a small mountain school so I feel the books will be put to good use!

THANKSGIVING BOOKS:

My mom loved fall colors, so naturally I do too. Here are some books with a Fall theme to get us in the mood for Thanksgiving fun.

HOW THE BAILEY SCHOOL KIDS BEGAN:

Julian from What's in My Head podcast asked me some interesting questions about the beginnings of the Bailey School Kids series. Check it out here.
