2022 State ODP Players
Congratulations to the following FC Richmond players who have been selected for the State ODP pool.
Players of the Season
The FC Richmond Junior Board is pleased to recognize another round of players who were selected by their coach as the "Player of the Season". These players were selected based on their skills, teamwork, leadership, attitude, work ethic or a combination of these qualities. Each player selected will be highlighted on FC Richmond's social media platforms. Congratulations to all who were recognized! Stay tuned for more recognitions this week!
Alumni Spotlight
We are thrilled to feature former FC Richmond Mystx goalkeeper, Haley Eiser, and her tremendous success with the Christopher Newport Women's Soccer team. Haley and the Captains finished the season as NCAA DIII National Champions! Haley received numerous honors during her time at CNU. Among them, she earned third team All-Region and second team All-Conference honors before also being named to the NCAA Championship's All-Tournament Team. She was also a four-time Academic All-Conference pick. Over three years as the starting keeper, Eiser played in 67 games and finished her career with a record-breaking 54-4-4 overall record. She owns the single season and career records at CNU for goals-against average, save percentage, wins, shutouts, and minutes played. When asked about her outstanding season, Haley said, "First off, the season was absolutely incredible. I’d never imagine to win a national championship, much less do it in my final year of soccer. There never really was a doubt amongst the team that we weren’t the best team on the field but never took anyone lightly. Each of us wanted the person next to us to succeed. I truly believe the year that covid took away made us realize how we need to cherish each season and to make it count. The weight rooms, conditioning, and all the summer workouts are what made it possible. The work that each player put in outside of practice really showed on the field." We are proud of your success and hard work, Haley!
"Beyond the Game" Player
Alex and Kenzie Miller have been a part of FC Richmond for many years. Currently, Alex Miller is on the U15 Mystx Elite team and her younger sister, Kenzie, is on the U13 Mystx Classic team. Over the past year, the sisters have worked to support the Child Life program at St. Mary’s. Both girls find it powerful to give back to the hospital where their dad works. Child Life is a program that helps patients understand and cope with being in the hospital. Last year, the girls worked with their futsal program, EVLV, to collect toys for the program. They have been able to carry this on and EVLV collected toys again this year to donate to St. Mary’s. Recently, Alex organized another drive to collect gifts to donate to Child Life with the National Junior Honors Society at her middle school. Alex and Kenzie hope to organize future drives for toys and essentials to support this program. The Miller sisters have definitely gone “Beyond the Game” to get others in the community involved in supporting this organization.
