CARVER VOICES - OCTOBER

CARVER CENTER RECEIVES PRESITIGIOUS AWARD

Carver Center was honored to receive The Villar Beacon of Light Award at a recent Feeding Westchester conference. The award recognizes excellence in providing food to the community through our Carver Market operations as well as our service to the immigrant community in Port Chester. KEEPING BUSY AND HAVING FUN IN OUR TEEN CENTER

Teens participating in our Teen Center, and there are more than 100, are immersed in a structured program where they receive academic support and one-on-one mentoring. In addition, our experienced staff will guide them through the complexities of the college and/or vocational school admissions process. There's also a lot of great activities happening. Check out our website for more info, https://carvercenter.org/teen-center-programming/

SHARING IS CARING WITH 914cares

Through our partnership with 914cares, we were able to provide diapers, bibs, formula, and period supplies to our community members who come to our weekly Carver Market distributions.

CHARITY NAVIGATOR

Carver Center has been evaluated by Charity Navigator, the world's largest and most trusted nonprofit evaluator, and earned a Four-Star rating. This is the highest rating and indicates that our donors and supporters can trust our commitment to good governance and financial health.

COME VOLUNTEER AT CARVER!

Your time and talent are valuable resources to us. Carver Center has a number of volunteer opportunities in our Carver Market. Volunteers aged 16 and over who are eager to increase food security in our community are invited to volunteer. Pictured is our wonderful group from The Bridge School at Rye Brook, A Division of Cerebral Palsy of Westchester.

Please contact Gina Nocco at (914) 305-6009 or volunteer@carvercenter.org for information.

CARVER CENTER CELEBRATES HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

We've been celebrating this vibrant and diverse holiday all month long. Our teen center members have been sharing stories of their rich history and heritage, and our talented Chef Peter has been preparing delicious Latin food options for our community members who are joining us at our Saturday, Dinner @ Noon community meal.
