We're excited to see you this Saturday, December 10th for our annual Winter Festival. A portion of every purchase directly supports FONA — thank you for supporting us this holiday!

ACTIVITIES


Experience free holiday-themed family activities at Winter Wonderland, a child-centered event hosted by DC Childcare Connections. There will be nature-based crafts, winter-based activities, face painting, book giveaways, and more!


Registration for the family activities is encouraged but not required.

Give a gift from FONA this holiday! At the Winter Festival, we will be selling our 2022 Arboretum holiday ornaments, Washington Youth Garden jars of honey, tote bags, baby bibs, and t-shirts. This year's ornament features the Capitol Columns and Berry Bird, our beloved sculpture in Washington Youth Garden.

Arboretum Internships

The U.S. National Arboretum is now accepting applications for 2023 internship positions. These internships range from three to six months long and offer hands-on work experience and training in horticulture, botany, and plant research.


Interns work throughout the Arboretum's plant collections, greenhouses, and research laboratories. They also complete a project and participate in educational field trips.
