FSHOA Board Position Openings
Your FSHOA board is comprised of volunteers in the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Communications,Grounds, Restrictions, Social, and Welcoming. Typically, a term is two years and the position elections are staggered to retain continuity on the board. Elections are held at the annual meeting in December.

These are the people who volunteered to serve on the board; however, elections are open to all residents. Additionally, the board always welcomes additional help with projects or events. Together we can continue to make our neighborhood a great place to live.
Special Thanks
Mike Kasper who served on the board as President of our HOA has recently moved. We would like to thank Mike for his many years of dedicated service helping maintain and improve our subdivision. His invaluable leadership and dedication serving on the board will be greatly missed. We wish Mike and his wife Darlene the best as they start another chapter in their life in sunny Florida.
Matt Krieger will be stepping down as the Grounds Chair. Matt has done an excellent job over the last two years working on improving the retention pond and working with all the contractors to keep the grounds maintained. Matt will be greatly missed as this is a vital role on the board.
Donna Drotar will be stepping down as the Social Chair after holding this position for many years. Donna has done an excellent job at setting up the activities for the sub including the Easter Egg Hunts, Fall Socials, etc. Donna will be greatly missed!
Thanks to all volunteers who have showed up for the cleanup events, this is greatly appreciated so we can keep improving upon the commons area while saving money as well. The board would like to thank the most recent volunteers Paul Misch, Bruce Pierce, Tim Luxom, Peter and Natalie Nuccitelli, and James and Colleen Giovanni for all the work they did to help clean up and improve the commons.
We would also like to make a special thanks to Sandi Soens. Sandi has spent countless hours lugging down water for some newer trees in the commons that otherwise were not going to survive. She has spent considerable time spreading out soil, mulch, and planting perennials to make the commons area look better and help with erosion. Her hard work and dedication is much appreciated!
Fall Planting in the Commons
Fall is a great time to split plants and cut back black-eyed Susan's. Any plants or seeds that you don't want, any leftover topsoil or mulch or larger rocks you want to get rid of, please consider donating to the commons. Contact Sandi Soens (amishfurn@aol.com) for pick up. The board would like to thank Natalie Nuccitelli and Colleen Giovanni for the most recent donation of plants.
2023 Annual Dues
Annual Association dues will be increasing from $ 243 to $255. The dues must be received on or before February 28, 2023 to avoid late charges and penalties. This increase is necessary to cover the increased costs for maintaining the neighborhood. Dues notices will be sent in late November for the convenience of those who fly south for the winter and to allow extra time for mail delivery. We appreciate your timely payment to avoid late charges and collection fees.
Trick or Treating
Kids generally start trick or treating anytime after 6pm and commence around 8. Let’s hope for good weather this year!!
Street Drains
A reminder for those with street drains in front of your house; please try to keep them clear of leaves in the fall and snow in the winter!
Yard Waste
Per www.fgov.com website, Yard waste pick up ends the week of December 12 – 16, 2022.
Acceptable yard waste includes leaves, grass, shrub clippings, twigs, and plant materials. There are three options available for yard waste disposal:
- Place yard waste in a trash can (35-gallon size limit) with a yard waste sticker on both sides. Yard waste stickers are available free from City Hall or the DPW.
- Put yard waste in brown paper yard waste bags. Please do not overstuff bags.
- Use a mulching mower and recycle leaves and grass clippings back into the lawn.

Outside Projects
Before beginning any outside projects, please review the bylaws and covenants at http://www.farmingtonsquare.info/rules--regs.html and contact the board for approval. Please allow enough lead time for board review prior to starting your project. This helps us maintain consistency throughout the subdivision and eliminates controversial situations. Questions and requests to make changes to the outside of your home or property should be emailed to farmingtonsquarebod@gmail.com. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Commons
The main culvert along Halstead was dug out and rocks were added to help with the flooding issues. The trench feeding into the main culvert was also improved for better water flow.
We added another 12 yards of topsoil to build up the bank off the Shadowglen bike path to help contain the flooding. Your donated plants are being added along the bank to help retain the topsoil and prevent erosion, as well as, to visually improve the area.
