Housing Element Update
Saturday November 20th from 2-6pm: Fairfax Community Workshop

RSVP now on the Fairfax Speaks website and join your neighbors at our virtual Community Workshop for a discussion of Fairfax’s 6th Cycle Housing Element Update.

Your participation and feedback at the workshop matters!
Fairfax is a Town that cares about our neighbors and the community. Your guidance in this Housing Element process can help create a more inclusive Fairfax with housing opportunities for all of our community members.

The Housing Element is a document that will help shape the future of housing in Fairfax. Part of the Town’s General Plan, Fairfax is required to update the Housing Element every eight years. Fairfax is in the process of developing our 6th Cycle Update, which needs to plan for existing and projected future housing needs. In the eight year period from 2023-2031, the Town will need to plan for an additional 490 new housing units. Community feedback at this workshop will help inform where and how Fairfax will accommodate these 490 housing units for people of all income groups.

Can’t attend the workshop? Have more questions? Invite your neighbors by sharing the Fairfax Speaks website and the Facebook Event [insert link] with them. Fairfax Speaks also has many ways for you to engage and participate throughout this year-long process.
Public Works Update

The Town has mobilized a contractor to make urgent repairs to the properties where the outfall from Tamalpais Creek (that flows under Town Hall) joins San Anselmo Creek. The contractor will stage materials on Bridge Court and expect to have work completed over a 3-day period later this month.

For questions on this project, please contact Jonathon Goldman, PE Interim Public Works Director at jgoldman@townoffairfax.org.

This episode takes a look at something we can’t live without, but need to learn how to manage properly: trees! Learn simple tips to assess the trees around your home, how to maintain trees safely and what trees pose the greatest fire risk.
Please share Wildfire Watch widely with all Marin residents. Wildfire may be paused for now but we can use winter time to prepare and harden our homes.

Now is a great time to consider rain barrels to capture rainwater for later use. Learn more at Marinwater.org/rebates
