Roslyn Public Schools

SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS

December 20, 2021

Dear Roslyn Families,

I’m aware that many of you are concerned about the rising number of positive COVID-19 cases on Long Island and I’m writing to reassure you that we are closely monitoring the situation. At this time, in consultation with our medical director, we have determined that it is safe to keep our school buildings open for the remaining days before the break.

My team works very hard to provide a safe environment for our students and staff, and we intend to keep it that way. If a time comes when we need to close our schools, we will do so. Until then, our schools will stay open.

I can’t stress enough the importance of our collective responsibility to keep our children home if they are sick. But if they are healthy, they should be in school. Having children in their classrooms and participating in an academic routine is crucial not only to their learning development, but also their mental well-being.

Be assured, we are in front of this and will keep you informed if circumstances require us to pivot to an alternate plan.

Sincerely,

Allison Brown

Superintendent of Schools
