Proyecto Sustentar Aims to Advance Working Conditions in Mexican Tomato and Chile Sectors

In April 2022, SAI began Proyecto Sustentar, a USDOL-funded project that will engage with workers, producers, public sector, and civil society to improve social compliance systems and labor rights—specifically related to child labor, forced labor, and unacceptable conditions of work—in agricultural supply chains in Mexico. SAI is working with partners El Centro de los Derechos de las Ninez y Empresas (El Centro) and Save the Children Mexico to achieve project objectives.

Social Compliance Expert (Agricultural Supply Chains), Mexico

We're seeking an experienced Social Compliance Expert (Agriculture Supply Chains) to support managing and implementing activities for Sustentar, a USDOL-funded grant project.


The Social Compliance Expert (Agriculture Supply Chains) will be responsible for providing technical expertise, leading the development of project materials, such as trainings, social compliance and remediation tools, and working closely with our partner Save the Children Mexico and other stakeholders.


Applicants MUST be able to devote at least a 90% level of effort to the project, have experience with supply chain social compliance in the private sector, and experience developing and applying methodologies for tracing supply chains. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

Program Fellow, New York City, NY

We're looking for a skilled and 

enthusiastic writer, communicator, and content developer to play a key role in producing learning materials to support our programs, including handbooks, reports, tools, trainings, and case studies. The Program Fellow will develop, edit, and design materials, helping to ensure that our wide variety of written content across many programs and audiences always connects back to SAI’s theory of change and core themes (labor rights, human rights, corporate social responsibility, social compliance, etc.).


Applicants MUST have at least 3 years' experience writing or developing learning materials on topics related to SAI’s work or equivalent level of education. The ideal candidate for this position is a highly skilled writer and researcher capable of quickly synthesizing information, making connections to larger concepts, and communicating information to target audiences across many types of media.
