Honors Kitsap Employers
Washington Resiliency Award: Recognizing an employer that has shown resilience and determination overcoming difficult obstacles and demonstrates leadership carrying out initiatives addressing safety, community resiliency, or financial threats related to an emerging, immediate or long-term community crisis, while considering the varying needs of all residents of the region.

Winner: Virginia Mason Franciscan Health
Virginia Mason Franciscan Health was one of the first providers to offer free virtual urgent care during the pandemic, helping more than 13,000 patients. Ten triage centers tested more than 108,000 patients. And the company’s Benaroya Research Institute led to a clinical trial of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. The company also supported several large-scale vaccination sites and community partnerships. Altogether, VMFH vaccinated more than 370,000 people.
Washington Advance Award: Recognizes a business that has had a significant cause-oriented impact in its sector and/or community and contributed to the advancement of the economy.

Winner: Columbia Bank
Columbia Bank did more than just offer small business loans with their Paycheck Protection Program money – they invented a way to pass kindness on to those who needed it most. This unique concept acts as a two-for-one relief plan – paying small businesses to provide services for those who were struggling in their communities. Examples include a plumber installing a new water heater for a women’s nonprofit shelter, to a sand and gravel supplier offering trail maintenance. Each of these stories are shared through digital advertising and through their website at www.passitonproject.com.
