February IVMA Networking/Job Fair
We know hiring veterinarians is challenging right now. We’d like to help!

In conjunction with the IVMA Winter Conference, we are offering a special February Networking/Job Fair at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Ames on Thursday, February 10. While you are in Central Iowa for Winter Conference, head up to Ames to meet with students looking for veterinary positions.

The IVMA/ISU CVM Networking/Job Fair will offer IVMA veterinarians the chance to meet current ISU CVM students in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. All classes of veterinary students are invited to attend, allowing students to network and build relationships with IVMA veterinarians and practice their interviewing skills.

The event will take place at ISU CVM on Thursday, February 10 from 5:30-7:30 pm.

Sign up today! There is no cost to participate for IVMA members.

Veterinarians can meet with students to network and discuss:
·        Associate positions open now and in the future
·        Preceptorships
·        Summer jobs
·        Veterinary practices for sale in the future

Clinics are invited to bring flyers, photos or anything else they wish to display about their clinic and community. Clinic staff is also invited to help staff the tables.

We're Moving...But Not Far!
The IVMA is on the move! In order to gain a little more elbow room, the IVMA office is moving...but only across the hall! Our address will stay the same (1605 N Ankeny Blvd, Ankeny) with the exception of we will now be in Suite 100.

Moving day is scheduled for Tuesday, January 18. Our phones will be switching over to the new location on that day, so if you have a hard time getting in touch with us, please keep trying or email ivma@iowavma.org.

Thank you for your patience!
IDALS Foreign Animal Disease Stakeholder Focus Groups
To best meet the needs of our partners and producers around the state, IDALS would like to hear from you and local producers on how we can best support you to be prepared in the event of a foreign animal disease outbreak.

We need your help to determine statewide producers’:
  • Awareness of FAD threats, response plans, and opportunities to minimize operational and supply chain disruptions if an outbreak occurs
  • Current level of FAD preparedness
  • Expectations of roles and responsibilities during an outbreak
  • Needs to better prepare for an outbreak and how IDALS can address those needs

We want to hear the stories, concerns, and questions from the field.

Click here for more information and to register.

IDALS will be hosting 4 focus groups around the state, with dedicated, 2-hour species-specific Sessions (Poultry/Turkeys 1-3 pm, Swine 3:30-5:30 pm, Cattle and Sheep 6-8 pm) to capture the diverse needs of each group.
