IRELAND'S REMOVAL OF COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS
Ireland celebrated at the weekend as we saw a return to normal with the announcement on Friday of the removal of COVID-19 restrictions from 6am on Saturday 22nd January 2022.

  • Pubs, restaurants, cinemas and nightclubs to return to normal hours
  • Social distancing and contract tracing is no longer required
  • Capacity at indoor, outdoor and all events return to full capacity
  • Digital COVID Certificate no longer required for entry to venues/activities
  • Phased return to office for workers to begin this week
  • Face coverings will be required until 28th February when in healthcare settings, retail setting and on public transport

The efforts of the Irish people over recent weeks to reduce social contacts, and take care when they did meet others, combined with the high uptake of the vaccination and booster programme, has made a considerable difference to the public health situation with 94.4% of the adult population fully vaccinated.
