HONOR A LOVED ONE
DURING THE HOLIDAYS
Our sanctuary is so lovely during Advent and Christmas when it is decorated with candles, fresh flowers, and greenery. This holiday “dress” transformation will occur as members of our music ministry share special musical offerings during the annual Hanging of the Greens service at 6pm on Sunday, December 3. You are invited to honor a loved one by making a donation toward the decorations for the service. With $15 for each honorific or memorial gift, all monies will help defray the cost of the trees, wreaths, fresh flowers, and greenery for the service. An insert in the December 10 bulletin will list the names of all for whom gifts were given. Please submit your request here. Checks or electronic payments should be received no later than Friday, December 1. Forms are also available in Sunday School boxes. Mail checks to: Financial Administrator, 99 N. Salisbury St., Raleigh, NC 27603; please write “Holiday Greenery” on the memo line.

RALEIGH CHRISTMAS PARADE
We’re looking forward to the annual Raleigh Christmas parade on Saturday, November 18, from 9am–12pm. This year, we’ll be offering free hot chocolate and a free biscuit from And Also With ‘Cue! This is always a wonderful way to offer hospitality to our neighbors, and the perfect seat for watching the parade. Volunteers are needed to make all of this happen, so please email Leah if you’re available to be on the hot chocolate and biscuit crew!

COMMUNITY MEALS
As we approach Thanksgiving and Christmas, we want to provide an opportunity for our congregation to serve our neighbors a hot meal from And Also With 'Cue. The need around us continues to rise, and both Oak City Cares and the Helen Wright Center have been experiencing record numbers. This is one small way we can give back to our neighbors experiencing food insecurity, and a great way for families to serve together!
We have two upcoming opportunities:
Sunday, November 26: Oak City Cares, 2–5pm. Oak City Cares is a coordinated service hub for individuals and families at risk of — or experiencing —homelessness in Raleigh. They provide hot weekend meals every week at their building, and we'll be serving the dinner meal for 200 people. We'll meet at Oak City Cares, located at 1430 South Wilmington Street, and begin setting up at 2pm. The dinner meal is served at 3pm, and the entire shift will end around 5pm.
Tuesday, December 12: Helen Wright Center, 5:30–7:30pm. The Helen Wright Center is an emergency shelter for single adult women experiencing homelessness and is a broader part of Urban Ministries. We'll be serving the dinner meal for 65 women. We'll meet at the Helen Wright Center, located at 3603 Bastion Lane, and begin setting up at 5:30pm. The dinner meal is served at 6:30pm, and the entire shift will end around 7:30pm.
Please use the sign-up genius to RSVP, and email Leah with any questions!

FOR BABY HOOD
Come help us celebrate expectant parents Sara and Michael Hood at a baby shower on Sunday, December 10, from 2–4pm in the fellowship hall! There will be refreshments, and you'll have a chance to write words of wisdom and well wishes to Sara and Michael, whose baby boy is due mid-January.
The Hoods are registered at babylist.com and Target.
