JOIN US FOR WACKY WEDNESDAYS Starting May 25

Tonight is our final Adult and Youth Faith Formation (at 6:15 p.m.) after our dinner from 5:30-6:15 p.m. (hosted this week by Tom and Ginny Olson) – please come join us! And we’ve loved getting together on these Wednesdays so much, we’d like to keep it going! Starting next week, May 25, we will have dinner at 5:30 p.m. but need more helpers for all the Wednesday dinners in JUNE! If you can help, it's easy, and you can get family, friends, or a group to help you! See the sign-up sheets by the kitchen serving window. And then after dinner, we’ll select a couple of different wacky activities to do together – outdoor and indoor options. For example, crafts, games, or movies inside and group games or projects outside (weather permitting).

Come and enjoy good food, fun, and fellowship!

MEN’S GROUP

Hey guys! Want to get together on a regular basis? We would like to offer a time for the men of our community to gather and be strengthened in their faith. We will initially meet on Saturday mornings at church. If this is of interest to you, please let the office know. The group will start meeting the morning of Saturday, June 11.

NEW LIFE CHURCH GOLFERS

REMINDER: The New Life Golf Group starts up tomorrow, Thursday, May 19 with the first tee time at 5:36 p.m. at Door Creek Golf Course. We have four golfers who have committed, and we also have a list of names of others who are interested when one of us cannot make it.  Anyone is welcome to join in. This year, Verne is scheduling the foursomes two weeks in advance to ensure we can keep our tee time a full foursome.

Verne Scholl and David Hayward are the contacts for communication on golfing opportunities that come up through the season until August 25th. We use no formalized selection, other than send the interested group email request out, and the first one to respond with a “yes” is in for that week. We are not a league, we are a community of faith and play for enjoyment, realizing the game of golf can be enjoyable no matter what skill levels we possess.

Social Purpose Team is here for you

Please know that if you are experiencing any financial need (rent/mortgage, utilities, groceries, medical, unemployment/furlough, etc. you only need to let Pastor Heather know. This information will be kept confidential to her and our financial officers (treasurer and bookkeeper).

WAYS TO PARTNER

We have established a partnership with the Nehemiah Center, which means that we will be looking for and offering ways for you to connect with their leadership in our area serving communities of color. We will highlight ways that you can personally and with your family grow this partnership alongside what we're doing as a congregation.  Kathy Mullen is currently collecting the following items (women's toiletries):  shampoo and conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, razors, lotion, deodorant and body wash.  Just place items on or around the table in the front lobby.

Other ways you and your family can partner: support black-owned businesses (click here for a list), visit www.lirs.org to support refugees, visit www.ldr.org to help with disaster response around the nation, or www.elca.org to find another way to give back to people in need.
