Wellness for Thanksgiving
Our PTA Wellness Committee wishes you and your family a healthy and balanced Thanksgiving. See below for activity ideas on Thanksgiving day and a fun Thanksgiving treat.
1. Sign up for a Turkey Trot
2. Take a family Walk or Hike
3. Play outside
4. Speed Chores
- Set a timer and try doing the chores in half the time it usually takes you. Plus, it’s a sneaky way to get the whole family to help clean around the house! Blast some upbeat music, assign chores, and get moving!
5. Put a puzzle together as a family
6. Make and deliver a handmade grateful gram for a family member, friend or
neighbor to show them they are appreciated.
7. Volunteer at a soup kitchen or food pantry, deliver meals (ie Meals on
Wheels, etc) or donate to a community refrigerator
8. Try a Pumpkin Design Relay
- If you’ve got toddlers or little ones, get a pumpkin and place materials to decorate it in different parts of the house or outside. They’ll have to run to each station and work quickly, and by the end, they’ll have a cool pumpkin and they’ll burn some energy at the same time!
9. Fill a gratitude jar
- Instead of having everyone go around the table to say what they're thankful for, have them write it down on a piece of paper. Collect the sentiments in a jar, then read them aloud one by one. See if guests can guess who said what. When the game's over, save the jar and its contents as a family keepsake.
