Furniture Donations for Ukrainian Immigrants --
Change in Procedure
Please read the following message from SFD faculty member Bob Jacoby with an update about future furniture donations to Ukrainian immigrants:
First of all, thank you to all of the people who have contacted me regarding the donation of furniture and especially those people who have successfully donated to the warehouse! Your efforts and generosity is greatly appreciated! Regrettably, I will not be able to continue in this role as contact person for this worthy endeavor. This does not mean there is no longer a need. Having me involved as the middleman has actually complicated this procedure to the point where I cannot get back to people in an acceptable timeframe to facilitate completion of deliveries. I also do not have the resources to pick up everyone’s furniture for them. Instead, if you are still interested in helping donate, I have included an email that will provide you with a direct connection with the organization collecting the furniture? They will be able to positively tell you what furniture they are seeking to receive and what furniture will likely be rejected.
In the event that you need a pickup for your items, they may be able to help.
HOW TO PROCEED IF YOU ARE STILL INTERESTED IN DONATING?
- Take a clear picture of each item.
- Email the photo/s to: REFUGEES@visitgec.org
- Wait for a return email saying that they will accept your donation.
- If you can deliver it to the warehouse you can take it: Tuesdays from 5:30pm-7:30pm or Saturdays from 8:30am-11:30am; Deliver to: 50 Hosack St., Columbus, OH 43207. If you cannot deliver it, let them know you need someone to pick up your items and wait for a response to work out time.
Thank you for your very generous help and support!

Dear God, our world longs for the peace that can only come from you. Help us to place our cares and our hearts in your hands. Your Son taught us to trust in you and the mystery of the cross. Help us when we are afraid to trust in you and your promise of new life. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen!
