Celebrating the Holidays on PA Route 6!
A visit to PA Route 6 is a great way to kick off the holiday season! This year, we are co-hosting a PA Route 6 Maker's Market with Gmeiner Art and Cultural Center in Wellsboro on December 9th-10th. This event coincides with the 8th Annual Christmas on Main Street. Stroll along gas-lit Main Street, shop local, and enjoy this picturesque town! Visit 30 displays of historic ornaments made locally in the early 1940's and learn how Wellsboro saved Christmas during World War II. It’s a weekend of activities to warm your heart and fill you with Christmas spirit!
You can view the full schedule of events for the weekend here. The PA Route 6 Maker's Market will be open Saturday, December 9th, from noon-6:00 PM and Sunday, December 10th, from noon-4:00 PM, and will feature artisans and crafters located within the PA Route 6 Corridor. This is a great opportunity to start checking those boxes off your gift list while supporting local businesses!

Our Road, Your Communities!
November 11th is Veterans Day, which was first established in 1919, exactly one year after the end of World War I, on a day known as Armistice Day.
It was hoped by many that World War I, being an unprecedented conflict in its scope, would be “the war to end all wars,” and that Armistice Day would therefore serve as an eternal warning never to repeat the past. The arrival of World War II, however, tragically complicated that view and, consequently, the meaning of Armistice Day. The United States switched the name of the holiday to Veterans Day on June 1, 1954, and repurposed it to honor veterans of the U.S. military in general.

November 25th is Shop Small Saturday, a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities. This holiday season, please join us in supporting small businesses, and there's no better way to do that than by supporting the local businesses that make up the PA Route 6 Artisan Trail! Click here and start checking those boxes on your holiday gift lists!

On Sunday, December 3rd, start your holiday season with Christmas in the Village at the Heritage Farm and Village Museum in Troy. There will be a bake sale, a visit from Santa, live music, vendors, story time with Mrs. Claus, and children’s crafts!
