Snow Update: Monday, Jan. 3, 2022 (11:30 a.m.)
Neighbors,

It's the first snow of the winter and one of the biggest we've had for quite a while. I am also hearing reports of trees and limbs down. If you can, please stay home and stay safe.

The county has several resources to help you stay informed:

Fairfax County Guide to Snow: Includes VDOT updates and resources, county facility status updates, how to register for Fairfax Alerts and more.

Utilities
With a heavy snow there is the possibility of power outages. Make sure your phone and other devices are charged.
  • Dominion Energy: If your power goes out, use your phone, or a laptop connected to a hotspot network, to report your outage and to get updates on their progress on restoring service. You can report any downed power lines or outages through Dominion Energy's voice response system at 1-866-366-4357.
  • NOVEC: Report a power outage online or call 703-335-0500.
  • Washington Gas: If you smell gas, or in the event of a natural gas emergency, leave the area immediately, and call 9-1-1 and Washington Gas at 703-750-1400.
  • Verizon: To report an outage, call 1-800-837-4966.
  • Cox: To report an outage, call 703-378-8422.

Public Transportation

We are monitoring the storm closely, so please follow my social media accounts for updates throughout the storm.
Lastly, when the storm ends, there will be lots of children sledding and snowman building. Please drive cautiously on our neighborhood roads!

Respectfully,
Walter
