Always Lock Your Car Door
Chief Mecklenburg would like to remind residents to always lock their car doors even if the car is in the garage. It is also important to never leave anything of value inside the car even when locked. Most car thefts occur typically between 2 and 5am so having motion-activated exterior lights would also be a deterrent. And most cars that are stolen have been left unlocked with keys left inside.
