IAPMO R&T First in World to Receive NOM-012-CONAGUA-2021 Accreditation

IAPMO R&T, North America’s premier certification agency for the plumbing industry, is excited to announce it is the first certification body in the world to receive accreditation through entidad Mexicana de acreditación, A.C. (ema) to NOM-012-CONAGUA-2021, Mexico’s new mandatory national standard for valves and faucets. IAPMO R&T is now accepting applications for certification.

Navigating California’s Proposition 65

California’s Proposition 65 requires businesses to provide warnings about significant exposures to certain chemicals. Recent amendments introduce substantial changes to the requirements for short-form warnings, including:

  • At least one chemical name must be included in the short-form warning content.
  • Changes to warning type size and new options for warning formats.
  • Revised requirements for internet-based warnings.

 

The new amendments took effect Jan. 1, 2025, with a three-year transition period. Additional information, as well as the regulatory text, may be found on the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) website at https://oehha.ca.gov/proposition-65.

They are commonly found in malls, airports, and businesses. But when it comes to these facilities, what are the best practices used to calculate the minimum number of fixtures. Calculating the minimum number of fixtures for separate female and male facilities is common, but calculating the minimum number of fixtures for toilet facilities is not as common.

WaterSense Specification Paused by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced a pause in the implementation of the WaterSense Specification for Tank-Type Toilets Version 2.0.
