A Message from the Principal

“Be like a duck. Calm on the surface. Paddling like the dickens underneath…”
This week is a shout out to our teachers and staff at Everett. While the Ducks ride may be more Dells than Disney, I don’t think I could find a more poignant reference to an amusement park ride that symbolizes how I am seeing our teachers and staff right now. They are the utmost professionals. These are crazy times, emotions are high, life is bustling, the sun is hiding and the weather is BLAGH!!! But no matter what is going on around this team, they are calm, positive and amazing. They look very much like this...

|
Our staff is beautiful, stoic, strong beings who are doing the impossible gliding across the water with grace and poise, while they are paddling like crazy to keep afloat. Their work and strength do not go unnoticed. I invite you to take a moment to connect with someone from Everett to let them know how much you appreciate them.
On a separate note, I appreciate YOU! I know you are all feeling the duck syndrome too so be sure to try to enjoy your weekend, stop paddling and just float…

To Note
iPad Reminder from the Tech Department
As a reminder, please have students charge their devices every night. Please make sure they bring their iPads and headphones to and from school daily. We are also finding a lot of student devices are requiring updates and not running smoothly. The tech department is asking all students to perform a software update at HOME (if needed), as to better maximize their time at school. Thank you for your cooperation.
Why Education is About to Reach a Crisis of Epic Proportions
I invite you to read the Forbes article this week on the crisis America is facing in education. I think about this all the time and why I am passionate about making Everett the happiest place on earth. I adore our teachers and staff and feel blessed to work alongside these types of professionals when the nation is facing problems as such.
