Jews and the Supreme Court, Hattie Kaufman: Are Jews pre-disposed because of the Wisdom of Solomon to be excellent judges? Or… do we have something else going on?

Jewish lawyers have long been represented on the United States Supreme Court, from Louis D. Brandeis, who served from 1916 to 1939, to current members of the Court, Stephen Breyer and Elana Kagan. We will take a look at the eight Jewish Justices in the Court's history, and discuss their influence and legacy.

Speaker: Hattie Kaufman. Hattie relocated to Jacksonville after retiring from the University of Alabama, where she served as the Associate Dean of the School of Law. Prior to that, Hattie practiced law in Birmingham, AL and Syracuse NY. She and her husband Alan are members of Beth El.
