Dr. Jessica Grahn from Western University will be sharing her research on the neuroscience of music, combining her unique background as a classically trained concert pianist and her training as a neuroscientist. Dr. Grahn’s work stems from her interest in why we move to rhythm, and how movement and rhythm may be connected in the brain. Dr. Grahn is also interested in how rhythm and music may be processed in the brains of those who have dysfunction in the brain areas that control movement, and why individuals vary greatly in rhythmic ability.

Spiritual Resources in a Time of Pandemic

Listening in a Time of Pandemic
In 2021, the Centre for Advanced Research in Catholic Thought developed a series of videos about living with COVID-19. The video series is designed to provide the King's community and beyond with spiritual and theological resources to help think through the big questions that are arising with the emergence of COVID-19 in our world.
King's is sharing these videos as they continue to be relevant to our current situation. In the first video, Listening In a Time of Pandemic, Sr. Margo Ritchie, Congregational Leader, Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada, discusses how deep listening opens the capacity to disrupt what we think we know. It holds the potential to help us create a new future together.

COVID-19 Screening
In keeping with changing regulations and recommendations from the province, Western has implemented a new process for individuals who need to come to campus, including affiliate campuses. Those that need to come to campus are required to complete the province's COVID-19 self-assessment tool daily. You do not need to complete the daily self-assessment on days when you are not coming to campus. As much as possible, students are encouraged to do their learning and studying remotely. If you are feeling unwell, please stay home. You can also read Western's Return to Campus Questionnaire FAQs for more information.

Western's On-Campus COVID Vaccination and Testing Centre Is Open

Any registered student with an active Western username and password can book a test or a vaccine appointment using the online booking tools. Some walk-in appointments are available.
