“Cultivating Kindness, Relationships, and Growth for all.”
News You Can Use: December 17, 2021

Dear CCGS Families,
We had a wonderful last week of 2021! This newsletter will be shorter than normal as I will send any new reminders just before we return on January 3, 2022. We are so thankful for all of the time we get to spend with your student each day. This week we collected close to 1,000 items to donate to the food pantry. We were also able to support over 18 families for our gift collection. None of this would have been possible without you! We are overwhelmed with the generosity of our families. Over the next few weeks we will enjoy our relaxation time as it will renew us all with energy for a great finish to the 2021-2022 school year. I hope you have a wonderful break with your family and I wish you all a happy holiday and new year! The office will be closed over winter break, and we will see all of you back on January 3rd!

Each week I offer a way for you to share a celebration or ask questions on this survey. If you would like a specific reply, please add your name so I can get back to you. If you comment about a specific teacher- I sent this directly to them! I was able to send another thank you to a teacher this week and it truly made her day!

  • Masks and Coats: Please send an extra mask with your child each day. They often break or get dirty or wet. Students will continue to go outside for PE and recess even on snowy days. Please send gloves, hats and coats. Our cut off temperature is 15 degrees with the wind chill. If you need help getting your child winter items, please contact [email protected]. We have resources for you!
  • Car Rider and Walker Reminders: Please have your red or green name showing for pick up time whether a walker or a car rider. K-3 parents, please make a right turn only into the rear lot at the end of the day. Please do not block the driveways on Mill and Orange Street so those families can get out of their driveways All walkers must have the red sign to pick up students. If you don't have your red sign, students will not be released out the walker door and you will need to bring your ID to the office to pick up your student. I sent an email to all walker families with the explanation for this change. All walkers are released prior to the bus riders unless their parent is not there, or the student is not at the door prior to the bell.
  • Bus Riders: Please remind your student of the safety rules on the bus and expectations for sitting the whole time, and keeping hands, feet, and objects to themselves. Please do not pass a bus when the bus arms are out. There are cameras and cars will be ticketed.
  • Lunch: Students have 3 lunch choices every day. The menu is sent home with every student and is also on the Y115 app. You can also click here to find that!
  • Devices: Please send your child's charger to school each day. It is also the responsibility of the student to charge each night. We have several students coming without charged devices and no way to charge.

Have a great break!

Mrs. Hamm

Due to the long break, we did not have a winner for this week!
Please have your child read over winter break! Students can still continue to work on IXL, Dreambox, and lexia as well if they wish.
