Cradle-To-Career Momentum Survey Seeking Responses

The GTP, Momentum 2027 executive committee, and "Cradle-to-Career" collaborative coalition (a task force of Momentum 2027) are seeking survey feedback from Partnership members, boards and community professionals to gauge area students' exposure to work-based learning, a set of instructional strategies that engages employers and schools in providing learning experiences for students. The purposes of work-based learning are to build student awareness of potential careers, facilitate student exploration of career opportunities, and begin student preparation for careers. This survey is confidential and shouldn't take more than five minutes. We appreciate your time and input!

Disaster Field Operations Center West: SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans Available to Kansas Small Businesses

Small nonfarm businesses in 12 Kansas counties and neighboring counties in Missouri are now eligible to apply for low‑interest federal disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration, announced Director Jeffrey Lusk of SBA’s Disaster Field Operations Center-West. These loans offset economic losses because of reduced revenues caused by drought in the following primary counties that began Sept. 5.

Primary Kansas counties: Douglas, Johnson and Shawnee;

Neighboring Kansas counties: Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Leavenworth, Miami, Osage, Pottawatomie, Wabaunsee and Wyandotte;

Neighboring Missouri counties: Jackson and Cass.

“SBA eligibility covers both the economic impacts on businesses dependent on farmers and ranchers that have suffered agricultural production losses caused by the disaster and businesses directly impacted by the disaster,” Lusk said.
