2022 Wood Badge
Dear Scouter,

Were you a scout as a youth? Do you look back at those glory days of laughter & joy at camp with fondness; longing to return? Or are you an adult leader living vicariously through your child's laughter & joy. Trying to ensure they get the scouting experience you missed out on.

If so, I have good news, you too can experience the carefree laughter & joy of childhood as an adult! Let's talk about Wood Badge. Yes, I can give you all the "adult" reasons to take Wood Badge growth, skills, commitment to youth yada yada; but let's get real. Wood Badge is a Scout Camp for Adults who can act like a kid again. This program comes with games, cheers, camp fires & above all new friendships. When is the last time you got to belt a song or cheer out at the top of your lungs & not care because so is everyone else.

Yes we will learn things, yes we will grow as leaders, yes we will improve our Packs, Troops, Districts, & Council. But first & foremost we will have fun & if nothing else escape the dreaded "what's for dinner'' question for a couple weekends. See at camp somebody else exemplifies servant leadership & prepares the meals as well as does the dishes. That's right, sign me up coach & I will see you for two fun filled weekends at glorious Camp Woodland.
Yours In Scouting,
Jason Grant

Citizenship in Society
The new merit badge encourages Scouts to explore important topics around diversity, equity, inclusion and ethical leadership and learn why these qualities are important in society and in Scouting. Beginning July 1, 2022, the Citizenship in Society merit badge will be required for any youth seeking to achieve the prestigious Eagle Scout rank.
Application for merit badge counselors are being accepted now, but this isn't your run of the mill process. Counselors will be put through a rigorous review process and once accepted will be required to attend a special training. Please contact the Service Center for more info.
