Mary Ingersoll welcomed everyone to the meeting and thanked United Fiber for sponsoring the meeting. The Ugly Duck Supper Club catered the meal. The electricity was out when the meeting started. Special thanks to Larry Glenn for bringing oil lamps, so the meeting could be held.

The Rotary will be getting a grant to update the disc golf course at Duncan Park to eighteen holes. St Joseph will bring their teams to play. Sponsorship opportunities are $200 for a hole or $250 to have your business logo on a basket.

The Savannah Alumni Association will hold events on October 9th. These include a car show, bonfire and street dance on the Square. The Museum will be holding a Mahjong Event as a fundraiser on October 11th with lunch provided.
On November 16th, they will start the Rural Electrification Exhibit with a program at 10:30 am. The Missouri State Quilt will be on display staring November 6th at 10:30 am. The Andrew County Quilt will be on display also. The Museum is planning to hold it's Winter Event this December.

Leadership Savannah is taking applications for the 2022 class. There will be an After Hours get together for alumni of Leadership Savannah. This will be October 13th at The Space Between from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

The Collector's office is working hard to get tax bills out. There will be some increases. The American Recovery Money is on hold until they receive more instructions from the federal government.

The College is applying for an Upward Bound Grant. This grant is for students in grades 9 - 12, who are low income or first generation going to college. This will provide mentors and several workshops on topics such as, ACT, financial aid. They would like to see Chamber Members write letters of support for NCMC.

The City Parks Youth Complex has been busy this fall, with a full parking lot.

They are in the old Vanderbilt's building on highway 71. In mid November they will be adding wildlife services. They are also adding a handy man service in November.
In December they will have a space remodeled to rent for events.

A 1 cent sales tax will be on the November 2nd ballot. This money will be dedicated to the fire and police departments. They will be working hard to get the information out. The Police Department is having trouble attracting and keeping officers. The Fire Department has 50 volunteers who are shared by the City and County. The City rents space from the Fire Station. The City's biggest need is for protective equipment for it's volunteers and paying off a used fire truck.

This is Homecoming week, the best time of the year in Savannah.

This year there will be four openings on the Chamber Board. These are three year terms and meetings are once a month. Please let Mary or one of our Board Members know if you or someone you know would be interested.
Chamber Golf Tournament was held in September. There were twelve teams participating and Victory Chevrolet was the winner.
A Ribbon Cutting was held for The Savannah Reporter. There will be a Ribbon Cutting for Asera Care on 10/30 at 10:00 am during their Fall Festival.
Sparkle will be held on 11/18 from 5:30 to 8:00 pm on the Square. Pop-ups inside of businesses.
Great Northwest Days will be held the first part of February in Jefferson City. Please let Mary know if you're interested in attending, so she can arrange transportation.
The Discussing Possibilities Meeting was recently held with around twenty five people in attendance. The speakers for the event were economic and community development directors from Cameron and Maryville. They each gave a great talk and shared what their communities are doing.
Some of the questions asked were;
What can Savannah do Better? As a community we have it pretty good, but we need to be looking towards the future.
Define what we want to bring into the community. What amenities do they need?
Mike Gallagher said it's important to keep all businesses and groups informed of decisions along they way that will impact them. Cindy Esely asked if we could support someone to be in that Economic Development position. The big focus of 2022 should be opportunities.
Mary reported that there are still opportunities to sponsor or host a Chamber Meeting for the November meeting. Cost of sponsorship is $350.
