Miriam González Durántez

Founder and Chair, Inspiring Girls International
Miriam González Durántez is an international trade lawyer, and the founder and chair of Inspiring Girls.
Having previously set up the London based trade practices of two international law firms, Miriam’s extensive legal experience includes advising clients on intricate EU regulatory and trade matters, as well as handling multijurisdictional international investigations on trade and compliance. During the academic year 2021-2022 she lectured on international trade policy at Stanford University. She is also a founding partner of the advisory firm Altius.
Miriam served as Vice-Chair of the Supervisory Board of UBS Europe SE from 2019-2021, having previously been the Chair of the Audit and Remuneration Committees at UBS Limited in the UK and Chair of Audit and Risk Committees at UBS Spain. She has also been a non-executive board member of the Spanish company Acciona. She is a member of the Diversity Board of Toyota Europe and of the Advisory Council ‘Barbie’ for Mattel. She is a member of the international advisory board for the Círculo de Empresarios in Spain and member of various university advisory boards, as well as a member of the European Council on Foreign Relations. Miriam also served for eight years as the Honorary President of Canning House, the UK’s leading forum on Latin American politics, economy and business.
Miriam is the Founder and Chair of Inspiring Girls International, a global charity dedicated to raising the aspirations of young girls around world by connecting school girls and women role models. The campaign operates in 30 countries across the globe and has led the highly praised global campaign #ThisLittleGirlIsMe.
Miriam started her career as a trade negotiator for the European Union at the World Trade Organisation and then as a member of office and adviser to two EU Foreign Affairs Commissioners on international relations with the Middle East/Mediterranean, Latin America and the US.
Miriam holds a degree in Law from the University of Valladolid, a Masters in European Policy from the College of Europe in Bruges and was Senior Associate Member of St Antony’s College in Oxford, as well as holding a piano degree.
She is the author of “Devuélveme el Poder” on the need for political reform in Spain, and “Made in Spain”.
Tilly Franklin

Founder, GAIN - Girls Are INvestors
Ms. Franklin is CEO and Chief Investment Officer at University of Cambridge Investment Management, the manager of the Cambridge University Endowment Fund. She is a Founder of GAIN (Girls Are Investors), a charity which aims to inform and inspire the next generation of female investment managers in the UK. Prior to joining Cambridge University in January 2020, Ms. Franklin served as Director of Investments and Head of Private Equity at Alta Advisers, one of Europe’s leading single family investment offices. An alumna of Jesus College, Cambridge, she was also a Principal at private equity firm Apax Partners Ltd, where she led a number of successful leveraged buyout transactions during her eight-year tenure. Earlier in her career, she also held positions at BBC Worldwide Ltd, Virgin Management Ltd and McKinsey & Company. Ms. Franklin is a Trustee of the Kennedy Memorial Trust. a Fellow of the 2017 class of the Finance Leaders Fellowship at the Aspen Institute, and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. Ms. Franklin holds a first class degree from Cambridge University in English Literature and an MBA from London Business School, and was a Kennedy Scholar at Harvard’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
Chaitali Patel
Chief Impact Officer, 100 Women in Finance
Chaitali Patel is Chief Impact Officer at 100 Women in Finance, a global association of women executives in asset management with 30 locations worldwide. Chaitali is a highly reputable social impact, finance, and fintech executive. Prior to joining 100 Women in Finance, she founded Evergood, an ESG, and sustainability consulting firm. In addition, she led the B2B finance arm of Fundation Group, a New York-based financial technology firm, as head of Catalyst Solutions. During her banking tenure, she held various senior executive positions at major national financial institutions, including the Bank of Hawaii, Zions Bancorp, PNC Bank, and HSBC Holdings. Her fifteen-plus years in the sector included extensive experience with business strategy, product management, bank operations, channel management, and financial reporting. Chaitali holds a BBA in Finance from the University of North Texas, an executive certificate in Financial Planning from Georgetown University, and an MBA from the University of Utah’s Eccles School of Business. As an ESG and impact investing entrepreneur actively engaged in the academic community, she speaks and shares knowledge on gender equity in the business, social impact investing, ESG metrics, and impact measurement best practices. She serves on the boards of commercial and social impact organizations, including UK-based ESG tech firm Maanch, STEM for Her, a nonprofit with the mission to advance women in STEM careers, and University Impact, a donor-advised impact fund based in Provo, Utah. She is based in the Washington, DC, area.
