Resource Benefits Forum

The Office of Student Health Services is hosting a Health Insurance & Resource Benefits Forum for students and parents/guardians on Wednesday, November 9th from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.


Learn about tax credits, SNAP benefits, health insurance, and more. The Forum is virtual and people can register at bit.ly/sdphealthforum. Interpretation will be available in Spanish, Chinese, Khmer, and Russian.

Academic Calendar Community Forums

We are in the initial stages of developing the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 Academic Calendars. Our primary goal is to create calendars that support student learning and meet the needs of our students, families, and staff. 


Please join us on November 14th or November 16th at 10:00 AM or 6:00 PM to hear more about the process and to provide recommendations for the academic calendars.

FAMILY NEWS & SPOTLIGHT

Join us for three (3) fabulous Family Academy sessions in the month of November!


Join us for the third month of FACT! These workshops are designed specifically with School District of Philadelphia families in mind. They provide helpful information to support families, students, and school communities as well as resources, materials, and takeaways for bolstering student and personal success. November's workshop topics include:


  • November 10: Supporting LGBTQIA+ Students (Spanish available in AM)
  • November 15: Graduation Pathways
  • November 22: Utility Bill Relief

Reminder: Report Card Conferences will be held November 21-23, 2022


Report card conferences are one of the best opportunities throughout the school year for families and educators to connect. They are a great time to review student academic progress and behavior and discuss how to partner together as the year progresses. Check out our article for families on making report card conferences as beneficial as possible!

Transgender Remembrance Coffee House

4:00 PM - 6:00 PM


The SDP Equity Coalition invites students, staff, and families to celebrate Transgender Awareness Week at our Transgender Remembrance Coffee House event on Wednesday, November 16th from 4 PM to 6 PM at District Central Office (440 N. Broad St).

In partnership with Philadelphia Futures/SteppingStone Scholars, 12+, and College Possible, The School District of Philadelphia is hosting several FAFSA completion pop-up events to support students and their families with financial aid completion. Each event is virtual. These events are open to ALL Philadelphia students. The first event will be hosted by Philadelphia Futures/Steppingstone Scholars on Thursday, November 10, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Registration is required.

Connecting Kinship Caregivers to Resources


PA KinConnector is an information, referral and education program for kinship caregivers in Pennsylvania. Kinship caregivers are blood and non-blood relatives who care for children when their biological parents can’t. The KinConnectors seek to assist these caregivers by providing information on financial assistance, legal information and referrals, and other issues caregivers face when raising children to provide stability and permanency in the home.
