Dr. Shibani S. Mukerji is the Associate Director of the Neurology Infectious Diseases Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), a Physician Investigator at MGH Vaccine and Immunotherapy Center, and an Associate Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Mukerji’s research focuses on improving neurological outcomes, enhancing quality treatment, and reducing costs for people with HIV. She is the PI for the SOOTHE study, a NIMH-funded randomized Phase II trial to determine the role of pregnenolone on neural function and inflammation in people living with HIV and depression, and co-PI for the observational study characterizing the HIV-1 reservoir in the central nervous system.  Dr. Mukerji received her M.D./Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University in 2010 and trained in neurology and neurology-infectious diseases in the MGB (previously Partners) residency program. She is the recipient of the Claflin Distinguished Scholar Award and Eleanor and Miles Shore Award, and has received support from the Rappaport Foundation, the James S. McDonnell Foundation and the Harvard University Center for AIDS Research.
