Dear Intermediate School Families,

We wrapped up our annual Thanks for Giving Food Drive last week and sent the donations to our local Southwest Meals on Wheels.  In 2021-2022, we donated 1,500 food items.  This year, thanks to our CVIS families' generosity, we donated more than 1,600 food items, monetary donations to the food pantry, and several hygiene items to the Unity Pantry. We are so grateful to all our families and students for their participation.

This week is a busy week at the Intermediate School.  Our students will be treated to a musical performance on Thursday afternoon by the intermediate and advanced band, orchestra, and 4th and 5th-grade chorus students.  Additionally, Mrs. Mastren-Williams and her student teacher, Ms. Cain, will display the wonderful artwork our students have created in class. The students will perform the same show and the artwork will be displayed for family and friends at 7:00 p.m. in the Intermediate School Auditorium.  During the week, the students will also have the opportunity to visit the Snowball Express to purchase gifts for the holiday season.  The shopping schedule can be found below. We will also be coordinating a Holiday Spirit Week for the week leading up to break. Check out the flyer here for more information.

Over the past few months, we have accumulated many coats, hoodies, sweatpants, and other items in the lost and found. Please ask your students to check the lost and found if they might have misplaced anything. Any items remaining in the building after Friday, December 16th, will be donated to a local shelter.

Sincerely,

Mr. Schintz, Principal

Ms. Zalar, Assistant Principal

Winter Weather Reminder--Flexible Instruction Days

As winter approaches, we want to ensure you are prepared for winter weather. If snow, cold, or ice forces us to close the school buildings, students will switch to a Flexible Instruction Day (FID). These are asynchronous learning days, meaning you can work at your own pace. All students in grades K-12 must log in for attendance purposes through Infinite Campus. Click here for the login instructions.

Work for the day will be posted in Google Classroom (K-8) or Schoology (9-12), and teachers can help by providing correspondence during their teaching hours.

If you do not have internet access, please let your teachers know. Discounted internet service may be available; click here to learn more.

Please contact your teachers or building principals if you have questions about Flexible Instruction Days.
