Destination Gettysburg's Adams County Crop Hop trail will undergo a variety of changes as it enters its third year this Spring. These changes will help streamline the passport for both Crop Hop locations and participants.
To better align with the local growing season, the Crop Hop passport will now follow a seasonal format, running May 1 through December 31. Each year, the passport will reset.
In addition, participants who visit Crop Hop locations can now redeem their points at any point during the season, allowing them to save points for larger prizes. Previously, prizes were awarded at set number of check-ins.
Lastly, Destination Gettysburg will handle the distribution of all prizes once redeemed. When passport holders earn a prize, they will now have the option to pick up the prize or it can be shipped.
All current passports will expire April 3, and the 2023 passport will launch on May 1.
Destination Gettysburg is excited about these changes and believe the measures will build more excitement about the Crop Hop, and lead to more stops and redemptions.
The Adams County Crop Hop was created as a way to encourage visitors and local residents alike to explore the rural countryside and patronize farms, markets and other unique places in the region. The Crop Hop launched in May 2021.
