A Word from the Director...
November is the month of Thanksgiving. The hustle and bustle of the holidays is beginning, and I wanted to pause and say how incredibly grateful I am for OUR phenomenal community. It was a new year for Erin and I and as you may assume there were changes and challenges that came about. The community’s outstanding support has ensured that we’re able to continue serving our business community into 2024 and beyond. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the incredible people who have helped our Chamber.
First, and foremost I want to thank our Board of Directors. These men and woman are volunteers from our business community who come together and share a passion for helping local businesses. They work their day jobs, but also help us with event planning and execution. Our Chamber Board members are Jared White, Ed Cicenas, Meghan Morge, Frances Jackson, Stephanie Torbert, Lance White, Koni Lovett, Mackenzie Larrick and Brad Barton.
Next would be our Haunted House volunteers. They work for weeks on end repairing, building, and cleaning. These people go above and beyond to make sure the Haunted House is safe and ready for our guests. Then, they work the weekends we are open as House Managers or Actors. Our volunteers are Steve Meade, Marian Brisard, Mike Brady, Jacob Brady, Dan Taylor, Grayson Mandrell, Dylan Jameson, James Mott, Janis Johnson, Caleb Smith, Skyler Hemmert, Lynne Long, Tyler Long, Jordon Sturgeon, Wilbur LeBlanc, Lorenzo Hagerty, Ariel Holmes, Krista Myers, Krystal Cicenas and Zander Cicenas. My apologies if I have forgotten anyone. We couldn’t do this without any of you!
Next, I’d like to thank our wonderful Chamber Members. From partnerships to sponsorships and beyond, our members are crucial in helping us support our local businesses. I’m excited to move into 2024 and for what we can accomplish moving forward together.
Last but certainly not least, I would like to thank Erin Angel, our Administrative Support Specialist, here at the Chamber. She’s the voice you hear when you call our office, she’s the face you see when you visit and she’s a huge asset to our office. I, personally, would be lost without her.
There’s a lot that I am grateful for this season. Thank you all for supporting the Chamber, supporting each other, and supporting local businesses. Together, I know that there’s no limit to what we can accomplish!
~Janice

The 30th year of Clinton’s Terror on Washington Street Haunted House has come to a close. We’re proud to say that Terror on Washington Street Haunted House has become an annual tradition for many in Illinois. We welcomed almost 3700 people during the 8 nights we were open this year.
Our amazing, dedicated group of volunteers started in February at convention in St. Louis looking for new ideas for rooms, new props, costumes and make-ups tips and tricks. This year we actually started in July working on the house itself to make sure we could provide our guests with a safe, scary, and exciting visit. Not only do these volunteers help build and design themed rooms, but they also volunteer their time during the event as House Managers to make sure the event runs smoothly during each night of operation. A “HUGE” THANK YOU to each and every one of them.
An extra special Thanks goes out to these organizations who volunteered as actors during the event: Clinton High School Game Masters Club, Clinton High School Thespian Troup #3154, Clinton Venturing Crew Troop #2142, Outkast Softball Team Parents & Friends, and Prairieland Abate Group. Volunteers from Second Chance for Pets staffed our concession booth each night of operation. Each of these organizations will receive a donation for their hard work.
And last, but certainly not least, Thank You to our sponsors! Without their support, we would not be able to hold this annual fundraising event.
