Stewardship
To All Who Are the Body of Nassau Presbyterian Church:

This month we began our traditional process of gratitude for all that Nassau Church means to us, individually and collectively and for discerning our financial support for the coming year. As in years past and especially this year, we do this with deep gratitude for God’s presence in our lives and for the grace with which we receive God’s everlasting love and blessings.

Beginning last Sunday and continuing for several Sundays, we will hear from members of our congregation with their messages of gratitude. We know that these messages will inspire you and will also serve as another connection point in our lives together. We hope that these messages will encourage your reflection on all that you are grateful for in your life.

Between now and Commitment Sunday on November 28th, we would ask of you three things, the same three things that we have asked in past years:

  1. To create your story of those things for which you are grateful in your life at Nassau Church. Share your story with your loved ones this Thanksgiving, around the table, on Zoom, through a text or phone call.
  2. To discern the answer to this simple question: What percentage of my income is God calling me to give to my church this year as I walk in faith with my church?
  3. To make your pledge commitment as part of our worshiping community by Sunday November 28th.

This past year has given us much to be thankful for in the life of Nassau Church. The faithfulness of our community, with each other and radiating out to the world has been inspiring. We have continued to be together in ways that didn’t exist two years ago, growing and living out our mission even when we are not together in person. While our physical return to 61 Nassau Street has been occurring over the past months, we never really left, connecting in ways both tangible and intangible, nurturing our faith, encouraging kindness, and engaging with our world. For that we are grateful. Together we have not just maintained, but we have grown. With an abundance of creativity, we have found ways to continue God’s work through activities such as small groups, children and youth programs, choir and arts programs, loaves and fishes, preparations to welcome a new refugee family, summer programs, our vibrant worship life together and so much more that it would require pages to name. All of this was possible because of each of you, your presence and your faithfulness during a most challenging time for us all. Imagine what will continue to be possible as we move Forward in Faith Together. For that we say, Thanks be to God!

On Sunday, November 28th we will celebrate our financial pledges for 2022 as an affirmation of our faith in God and our commitment to the life and works of Nassau Church. Please make your pledge in the way that is most convenient for you- using MyNassau, mailing your pledge to the church or sending an email to Linda Gilmore. We look forward to your attendance in worship on November 28th, virtually or in person, so that we can, together, renew our stewardship for the coming year.

On behalf of the Session, thank you for your discernment and presence with us,
Kim Kleasen & Keith Mertz
