Weekly Newsletter 11/04/2022

Dear Parents,

This has been a super exciting week at Kids For Kids Academy. We started our new FREE ENRICHMENT on Wednesday. Turtle Dance Class was a huge success. So much so that we have decided to offer it as another fitness based birthday option for parents who wish to have an in school healthy birthday celebration. The above flyer may be hard to see on your device, but there is a printed copy on the school outside bulletin board. There are many new ways to celebrate in school birthdays so be sure to check out the flyer. You can also check it out on our website by clicking on this link and scroll down to IN SCHOOL BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS:

This week I also sent out messages to our VPK, Kindergarten and First Grade parents. Never before in our 17 year history have we had so many people trying to enroll. We are already getting people wanting to enroll for August 2023. That said, we will not open enrollment to our Fall 2023 Kindergarten, First, or Second grade to families outside our school until December 1st to give our current families a chance to enroll. If your child is in VPK, Kindergarten, or First Grade and YOU HAVE NOT CONFIRMED you wish to stay another year, please do so as soon as possible so we can secure your space for the next school year.

With Halloween behind us and November already here, we focusing on Thanksgiving and all we are thankful for. Many years back we stopped doing Thanksgiving food drives for families in our school who needed help as we wanted them to be able to buy the foods their families liked. We started inviting families from our school to donate Publix gift cards in any amount as small as $5. At the end of the collections, we put all the card together and were able to give many families in our school who needed our help $150 to spend this Thanksgiving holiday. On Monday we will begin our Thanksgiving Gift Card Drive. If you wish to share your heart with another family, please turn in a gift card and get a little paper heart in return. Place your child's name on the heart and then place the heart on the Thankful Turkey on the front door.

Next week there will also be signs going up for the class feasts to be held on November 18th. For this community meal, each child is invited to sign up for one item to contribute to their class feast.

Next week you will also see a sign up sheet for November 21-23.Our school IS OPEN those 3 days (we are closed November 24th and 25th) but those days are NON INSTRUCTIONAL for VPK, Kindergarten, and First grade so they will be camp days and no academic work will take place. This means that students who are absent will not be marked absent or miss any school work.

The list will be for all families to indicate if they will attend as normal or take time off. Tuition is still billed that week as we still pay rent and staff. We put up the list so that we don't waste food. If you know how many kids are not attending, we can grocery shop accordingly and no fresh fruit, vegetables, or milk will go bad.

Also as noted in one of my mid week messages, whenever you see toys, clothing or other items outside the school, they are free for the taking. We believe in recycling and saving parents money whenever possible. If you need it take it!!

Finally, please mark your calendar as we are closed on November 11th for Veterans Day.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Beth Rosenthal Davis, Ed.S, NCBT
