Join the Fun on Pretzel Saturday!

Your help is needed to make Pretzel Saturday, April 12th, fun for everyone. We need people willing to make dough for the pretzels. If you are willing, we need the dough at the church by noon on April 11th. Beth Parr will email you a recipe, or you can pick one up outside of her office. We also need people willing to help children make pretzels and others willing to hide eggs. If you can help make the day wonderful for our children, please contact Beth Parr at 912-663-7466 or bparr@iohumc.com. We can also use donations of money to help purchase goodies to go in the eggs. Plan to come out and join the fun!

Justice Unites Savannah Together (JUST)

JUST is a network of congregations united for justice in Savannah-Chatham County. JUST Action Rally will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 7:00-8:00 PM at Unitarian Universalist Church. This is a significant gathering where we will explore our Access to Mental Health Campaign proposal and its role in driving systemic change, promoting equity, and improving health outcomes in Chatham County.

During the Rally, we will also provide updates on our action steps to ensure a successful campaign and discuss strategies to coordinate and maximize attendance at our Nehemiah Action (May 5, 2025), strengthening our collective impact. For more info www.justsav.org.

We hope you will mark your calendars and plan to attend both events. If you would like to attend and carpool, contact Julie Vann at jvann@iohumc.com

Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting

“I love the Lord because He hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because He bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!” - Psalm 116:1-2 (NLT)

Tonight, our prayer meeting will be held in the Sanctuary at 5:30 pm. Our prayer focus will be on praising God for providing members of our church family to greet, usher, acolyte, create beautiful flower arrangements, sharpen pencils, refill pew pads and cards, tidy the Sanctuary and Sacristy, prepare the altar and perform other needed tasks, as well as pray for more volunteers to lighten the load. Additionally, we will lift up the prayer requests received from last Sunday’s worship services. Please prayerfully consider joining us. As stated by Jim Maxim, “You can only go as far for God as you have time with God.”

Good Samaritan Circle

April showers might bring May flowers, but the Good Samaritan Circle brings good things to those in need. Our April meeting on Friday, April 4th, will be a time to bring out ideas of how we can continue to support our community and missions. Linda Martin will have a special and unique program for us. Be prepared to reveal your favorite Bible verse. Remember, we meet at 10:00 AM in the Green House with snacks in abundance! Everyone is welcome!

Day On The Island 2025

A calling out to ALL WOMEN about Day On The Island 2025!

Day On The Island returns to IOHUMC on November 7th, 2025. This day of open house and fellowship offered by the women of our church originated in 1965 with an afternoon tea. It later became a luncheon with a boat tour. Still later, a bazaar and tour of homes was added to the luncheon. This year, we are focusing on Isle of Hope's history as we plan to open our doors for Day On The Island 2025.

On April 9th at 9:00 am, ALL WOMEN are invited to gather for a kickoff meeting as we move forward with our implementation of the day. Please mark your calendar and plan to come on April 9 to learn how you can best offer your time and talents to participate.

The planning and execution of Day On The Island is truly a PLACE of fellowship and bonding. It is a PLACE to meet a forever friend, a mentor, a lifetime sister in Christ. It is a PLACE of mission outreach. It is a PLACE to offer our best to the community as we open our doors in Christian invitation.

We will meet in The Seekers Classroom (Room 15), 9:00-10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 9th. Please come join us!
