We do that by EXPERIENCING, EMBRACING, AND EXTENDING

God's love.

There are three ways to give to the mission of Christ Church:

you can mail in your pledge, give online, or text GIVE to (850) 403-6673.

Grateful: The Transformative Power of Giving Thanks

Sundays ~ 9:15 AM

Rm. 31 of Education Bldg. or by Zoom link here

Meeting ID: 878 4884 3240 Password: 510649

In chapter eight, "Circles of Gratitude", Diana Butler Bass uses the story of Zacchaeus from the Gospel of Luke for new insights of Jesus' gratefulness compared with the Roman Empire's expectation of gratitude from its inhabitants. Jesus' gratefulness really can make a difference for your well-being. The way in which Jesus turns the understanding and expression of gratitude upside down in this very personal story is the topic for conversation and discussion this Sunday.

"Pouring into Our Parents" (POP)

Sundays ~ 9:30 AM ~ 2nd floor of the Christian Education Bldg.

Children & Family Ministries offers a parenting class on Sunday mornings and welcomes parents with newborn babies to high schoolers. This class, Pouring into Our Parents (POP), meets at 9:30 AM in the Library on the second floor of the Christian Education building. The class will begin with a series on what a gospel-centered parent looks like. Discussions and readings hit on family codes, discipline, trust, times of suffering, hope, and grace.

We extend the love of God (Outreach/Parishioner Support)

Bridging the Gap

MARCH MADNESS UPDATE:

Bicycles Fall Farther Behind

This week the Beehives came on really strong with new players such as ”The Bees Knees”, ”Bee-lieve in God”, and ”Nun ya beeswax”. The score now is Beehives 33½ to Bicycles 15. There just doesn't seem to be the energy on the Bicycle Team, or maybe the Bicycles took the wrong route to the game. Come on Bicycle Team — there are still several weeks to go so a real comeback is possible!

Envelopes with forms can be found on the pews on Sundays and always available on the information table in the Parish Office. Any donation amount is welcomed, but an $80 gift gives you the chance to put a Beehive or a Bicycle on the court (aka bulletin board!). And for Heaven’s sake, give your player a name!

PRIMETIMERS' SALON

Wednesday, March 22 ~ 1:30 PM ~ Parlor

The first organizational meeting of the Primetimers' Salon on "Religion, Psychology, and Spirituality” will meet on Wednesday, March 22, in the Parlor at 1:30 PM. This group is for spiritual seekers. Programs will explore recent evidence-based information and theories in these three fields to elucidate relationships between religion and science.

Sunday, March 26 ~ 12:15 PM ~ Parlor

There will be a meeting of the Christ Church J.U.S.T Pensacola Network members in the Parlor following the 10:30 AM service this Sunday, March 26. The purpose of the meeting is to prepare our Network Members for the J.U.S.T. Pensacola Rally on Monday evening, March 27 at 6:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church downtown. Carol Lewis and Ken Pyle will be leading the discussion (30 minutes maximum) of where J.U.S.T. Pensacola is regarding our progress with our two priorities: Use of Civil Citations by local law enforcement and providing more affordable rental housing in Pensacola and Escambia County. All those interested in advancing this ministry within Christ Church are welcome to attend.

The Epic Book Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 3:00 PM. The April book discussion will be Small Things Like These and Foster (two short stories) by Claire Keegan. Please click here to be added to the email list for updates, and/or join our Facebook group (EPIC Bookclub of Christ Episcopal Church).

Attention 6th—12th graders!!

JOIN AN ACOLYTE TEAM!

Acolytes are “ones who help” and are important individuals that make worship possible on Sunday mornings. From serving as a torch bearer that shines the light of Christ to being a server who helps prepare the Lord’s Table, there are many ways to be part of the team. Any 6th-12th grade youth can become an acolyte, serving roughly one Sunday a month. Contact Kelly Heindl to learn more or join an acolyte team.

RECYCLE FOR SIGHT

In just about any home, one can find a pair of eyeglasses that are no longer being used. That same pair of eyeglasses can change another person’s life. That’s why the Lions Club started the Recycle For Sight program. If you have used eyeglasses you no longer need, you can donate them now — a collection box is available underneath the information table in the Parish Office. Items accepted include prescription & reading glasses, sunglasses, plastic & metal frames — children’s glasses are especially needed.

ALTAR FLOWER DEDICATIONS

Each week our worship service is enhanced with beautiful fresh flowers. After the Sunday services, the altar flower arrangements are reworked into smaller arrangements. These arrangements are delivered to members of our parish family that are unable to attend a Sunday service. The altar flowers are a memorial, a thanksgiving for an anniversary, a birthday, a new birth, or a thanksgiving for God's blessings. The donation is listed in the weekly bulletin. Forms to participate in this ministry are available here and on the information table in the Parish Office.

CARE IN COMMUNITY

Christ Church is here for you. There are many ministries to love and support the people who are the church. If you are interested in assisting with staying connected to our church family, please email Rev. Katie or call her at the Parish Office, 850-432-5115. It is easy to feel alone or disconnected, so reach out to one of the priests or someone at the church to say hello. Contact Rev. Katie if you or anyone you know has any needs. If you have a pastoral emergency, please call our pastoral care emergency line to speak directly with one of the priests: (850) 462-5137.
