WHAT A SUNDAY!

A Word From Our Rector

Dear All Saints Family,

This past Sunday was my first time to gather with believers at tables for breakfast and remain there for worship. I loved it and hope you enjoyed the morning as well. Surely the Lord was with us.

Your wonderful leadership made so much possible. The delicious food came by way of Ann Rust, Dawn Kiousis & Tess Judge, along with many kitchen supporters Carol and Don Davis, Suzanne Utley, Carol Cowell and others. The beautifully set tables were so festive, thanks to Sally Myers. Greeters Tim McKeithan & Troy Burchett were on the case and liturgists Charles Coppage and Nancy Atkinson were ready and spot-on. Children's leaders Ann McDowell, Suzy Rich, & Roisin McKeithan were doing their wonderful things and Steve Blackstock's music was sublime and superbly timed. Ushers Bob Baldwin and Paula Myatt worked their creative wonders. Priests and LEMS at tables hosted graciously and the communion vessels in their variety were beautiful as was the altar, thanks to Ann Laughner and the Altar Guild. Betsy Robbins' altar flowers sang to the glory of God. Sound and recording were super, thanks to Karen & Kenny Murrill, and Etta Lanuti's communion bread was as appealing to the eye as to the palate. We also blessed the impressive collection of Angel Gifts for children, with kudos for Carole Kimmel and her great oversight. Tom Rust gave an impeccable and moving invitation to each of us to share what time, talent and/or treasure we have in abundance. What a gift he gave us; each person who attended graced the community with her/his presence, also rich gifts.

I sensed a positive Spirit and energy moving through and around us. What a delightful way to close our stewardship focus and celebrate life together as the Family of God in this good place. Your engaged presence and support made for a joyous time together. May this gathering fuel our preparations yet ahead to welcome Christ afresh in our lives and our world.

With thanksgivings for you all and for the One who holds us in Love,

Rev. Cindy

Stewardship Update:

We gratefully continue to receive pledges.  So far 42 parishioners have pledged a total of $218,410.00.  Thank you to all who are preparing the way for robust ministries in 2023.

Christmas Eve Pageant anyone?

Organizational Meeting this Sun., Dec. 11 after the 10:45am service!

Katie Blanchard will direct a simple pageant in which interested children & youth (possibly adults too) will read the nativity lessons that are interspersed with carols: during carols, children & youth bring the figures related to the scripture to the stable in front of the altar. Costumes could be involved if participants want to wear them.

Would you and/or your children be interested in this experience this Christmas Eve at 5pm? Would you be interested in helping out, whether you have young ones in your household or not?

We'll hold an organizational session after the 10:45 service this coming Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022 to see who is interested, etc. Please plan to attend or get in touch with Katie to note any folks in your household who may want to participate.

Angel Gift Program

Angel Gift Update - Thanks again to all of you who contributed to the Angel Gift Program this year. Our gifts were delivered to the Baum Center on Monday where everything is processed and gifts are given out to families. Because of your generosity, we were able to fulfill all the wishes of our 15 children, and to provide a check for $356.08 to the Outer Banks Woman's Club to purchase gifts for other children. What a wonderful outpouring of love for the children of Dare County!

All Saints' Book Club

All Saints' Book Club celebrates this wonderful season! Pictured from left to right are Roisin McKeithan, Etta Lanuti, Colleen Sargent, Mary Moynahan, Judi Smith and Ruthie Charlton. Colleen and Mary are the co-administrators, also humorously known as Partners in Bookish Crimes. The Club's next meeting is at 2pm on January 16. All are welcome, & they are currently polling for their next book choice.

Adult Education and Spirituality Committee

All Saints' monthly labyrinth walk for racial understanding, racial dialogue, and racial reconciliation/reparation will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 12PM. Please join those who pray through walking the labyrinth. Please join others in the parish's quarterly walk of the labyrinth on December 21, 2022 at 12PM to celebrate the Winter Solstice. Winter Solstice is that time in the year when the Earth's poles reach their maximum tilt away from the Sun. Astronomically the celestial event marks the beginning of lengthening days and shortening nights - December 21st will be the shortest day of the year.
