Thankful for the Holiday Season
Are you as excited as I am about the approaching holidays? The gardens are taking on Fall colors and the new Fall flowers are being planted throughout the entire 38 acres.

Preparations are being made for the Annual Thanksgiving Day Buffet and we are working hard to make this year's event the best yet.

Speaking of Thanksgiving, just after dinner we begin the week-long task of decorating for Christmas! By November 30th, tens of thousands of lights will be hand strung throughout the Mansion and gardens along with eight fully decorated trees. This is sure to be the most opulent display along the Great River Road.

During the holidays, it's always nice to plan a special event for your friends or office. Now is the time to plan your office soiree, luncheon or dinner. I cannot think of a more elegant way to exchange gifts and spread holiday cheer!

PS. Gift certificates are a great gift idea for our Inn at Houmas House or any of our restaurants.

Much Love,

Princess Maggie

Secrets From the Kitchen at Houmas House
If you've followed us on social media the last year, you've seen our weekly live cooking shows. Each Thursday Chef Jeremy Langlois has shared some of his favorite recipes while sprinkling in a little history. These cooking shows have brought a whole new dimension to our interaction with all of you and to our restaurants. Thank you for watching, commenting and letting us be part of your week.
Find Us on the Catfish Trail
Cruising through the Delta to the Gulf, you'll find countless ways to cook U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish - not to mention characters in the kitchen. One of the best things about hitting the road is discovering new dishes (and revising old favorites). Because when you find good catfish, you're probably going to find a great story, too. From Alabama to Louisiana, the Catfish Trail introduces you to some one-of-a-kind restaurants and people.

Houmas House and Chef Jeremy Langlois are featured in this episode of The Catfish Trail and take you behind the scenes in our kitchen while making one of the signature dishes using USDA Catfish. Enjoy!
