Trunk or Treat Updates

CAR PARTICPANT

WE STILL NEED CARS!

We invite families to decorate their vehicles along our trick or treat path. On the date of the event, cars will park in the Teacher Parking Lot and continue along SW 102nd Street. All vehicles must arrive between 4:15 - 4:45pm and must be decorated by 5:15pm. Students will begin trick or treating at 5:30pm. The final session will end at 8:30pm, at which point, all vehicles may remove their decorations and exit. Vehicle participants are encouraged to bring candy; however, if you need assistance with purchasing candy, PTA can and will help.

In order to make this a successful event, we need your help. Please consider volunteering to help set up, work the event, or take down/clean up after the event. We are also accepting donations of Halloween decorations and candy.

Have you met our 2023 Trunk or Treat Candy Monster yet? He's hanging out in the Welcome Center and looking to be fed! Jack, our monster, graciously accepts individually wrapped, nut-free candy. We promise he won't bite!

National PTA School of Excellence

Survey

National PTA School of Excellence is a recognition program that supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being for all students. By enrolling in this program, our PTA and school administrators are making a year-long commitment in identifying and implementing an action plan for school improvement based on PTA’s National Standards for Family-School Partnerships.

Pinecrest Elementary PTA was recognized as a National PTA School of Excellence in 2022, and we are looking to earn this prestigious designation again. As part of the process outlined by National PTA, we are requesting feedback from families, administrators and teachers at two points in the school year—the beginning and the end. Using the community feedback, we will build an Excellence Action Plan to strengthen family-school partnerships. Please take a few minutes and complete the survey below.

Cortada Science Academy

The Cortada Science Art Academy at Pinecrest Gardens is starting on October 16^th.

There are Information Sessions on Thursday 10/5 and Sunday 10/8.

Through the fusion of art and science, students in this after school program gain a deeper understanding of our world, develop leadership skills, and actively contribute to environmental conservation. These young changemakers are led through hands-on projects and outdoor adventures as they discover how their creativity and empathy can help protect Florida's ecosystems.
