We're taking our weekly Jazz at Four communion service outdoors to the Michigan Avenue courtyard this Sunday afternoon, August 12!

Come be part of worship by the fountain, enjoy jazz music, and share fellowship with other worshipers while surrounded by summer's beauty.

fourVBS Chorus to Sing 9:30 Introit
Songs from Vacation Bible School
This Sunday the children who attended Vacation Bible School this week wiill sing at the very beginning of the 9:30 a.m. service. The preschoolers through fifth graders will sing some of the songs they learned during their VBS adventure to ancient Babylon, where the Old Testament prophets helped them to learn about God's love for us and to explore our call to be disciples.
 
You won't want to miss their toe-tapping presentation!

For adults sixty and more, a host of exercise opportunities, classes (from French to painting to films to music to history and lots more), as well as day trips are all in store during the new program year of our Center for Life and Learning, which kicks off on Monday, September 10.

fiveCalling All Eighth-Graders
Sign Up by Saturday, September 1
Each year eighth-graders at Fourth Church have opportunity to take part in a unique and powerful experience of exploring faith in the company of peers and adult mentors.
 
This exploration of who God is, who we are, and who the church is is all part of our Confirmation program--a combination of weekly gatherings and retreats. 
 
This year Confirmation begins on Sunday, September 9, and our first retreat will take us to Holland, Michigan, the weekend of September 21-23.
 
Sign-ups for both--Confirmation and the retreat--are due by Saturday, September 1 and can be completed online.

Jazz at Four greeters for the 4:00 p.m. worship service
 

Current Donation Needs
Adult-sized socks (men's and women's) for guests of the Chicago Lights Elam Davies Social Service Center  
 
T-shirts, especially sizes XL and larger, for guests of the Chicago Lights Elam Davies Social Service Center  
 
Individually packaged snacks--especially chips and pretzels--for guests of the Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Meals Ministry Bag Lunch program
