The Learning Accelerator is excited to announce a new podcast series focused on exemplary virtual and hybrid learning programs: Beyond Brick and Mortar.
In a continuation of TLA’s Stories of Learning podcast, this new series dives into conversations with leaders of established virtual and hybrid learning programs, examining what made their programs a success and what they’ve learned along the way in order to capture, codify, and share their stories with the field.
In the series’ first episode on Laurel Springs School — an online school for K-12 students whose schedules and needs might not align with traditional seat time requirements — listeners will hear from its Head of School, Megan Palevich, as she describes the school’s handling of enrollment shifts during COVID and why consistency of its program led to high retention rates even when other online schools saw enrollment declines last year. The episode will also feature a discussion on personalization in Laurel Springs’ fully asynchronous model, how intentionality is built into student-teacher interactions, and how school leaders developed engagement and community amongst students, families, and school staff – even in a virtual setting.
New episodes will be shared over the coming months, so make sure to follow TLA on social media so you’ll be the first to know when they’re published!
