As the last few leaves fall to the ground this autumn, I am reminded of all of the wonderful new friends and partners I have met over the past few months. The GVC community really is amazing and I am so thankful to be a part of it. Our volunteers are some of the most dedicated people that I know!

This fall, our amazing Event Committee helped us organize a beautiful fundraiser; our Reforestation and Garden volunteers planted many acres of new trees, rain gardens, microbioretention practices, and Bayscapes; our Stream Captains organized several trash cleanups; and our Land Preservation volunteers will soon be heading out to monitor our easement properties. Last but not least, the volunteer leaders who serve on our Board of Directors and Advisory Council have been working diligently behind the scenes to make GVC the best it can be while also dreaming and planning for a future of continued growth.

Our organization would not be what we are without all of your support, as we are so grateful for your time, skills, labor, and hearts.

As you know, the GVC staff is also a caring and hard-working bunch. Now that all of our trees and gardens are in the ground for the fall, it is time for us to start planning for a productive spring. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and if you also "Opt Outside" this Friday, maybe we will bump into each other on the trail.
