This year has been a slow sign up for classes. At the last place, I had limited the classes to 4 or 6 (initially because of COVID) and because of the smaller space, and was willing to teach as few as two students. This is no longer possible as my studio does not have a room big enough to hold classes. But using the hotel, it is possible to hold classes of 20 people or more. Unfortunately the cost of renting the conference room makes it unrealistic to have classes with less than 4 people. 

 

Because of this, I am not having classes as frequently as I was. I had been doing a Reiki 1 class each month, but that has been pushed out to every 3 or 4 months. This is to hopefully have a larger class than I have been having. 

 

If you are interested in a class, please sign up. Now. Don’t wait until the last moment as I need to let the hotel know a few days in advance if I have to cancel. Don’t wait until you think there will be enough people. Everyone is welcome to learn this wonderful method of healing. Massage therapists get continuing education credits. So please, if you are interested, sign up.

Start with the basics,

DNA, RNA, the soul.

Add nourishments, solid, liquid

then sight and sound.

Temper with sunlight and warmth,

followed by rain and cold.

Expose to each based on need.

Fold in passion.

Sprinkle in confidence and fear,

love and hate,

joy and sorrow,

positive and negative,

commitment and adversity.

Pepper with strength and weakness.

Mix and balance based on the desired outcome.

Tweak as needed to get the wanted effect,

until commitment overcomes adversity,

love replaces hate,

confidence overcomes fear.

Set aside, allow to grow.

Watch as the being forms,

molds into something greater.

Grows to, and above the potential,

and becomes a finished product.

Then moves again, to the realm of spirit,

a finished product,

a collection of memories and experiences

adding to the universal consciousness.

And then it will be time to start again.

Start with the basic human, young at age and ignorant of life.

See what is lacking, what needs to be changed.

Add learning as that will create the intelligence needed.

Add passion as that will produce options which will then create choices.

Add love as that will bring the passion in a positive direction.

Dump in fear as that is a motivator, a means to create movement and growth.

Combine strength to overcome the fear, and hope to believe it will.

Bring in balance as a middle point to ups and downs, success and failure.

Access knowledge to decide what tool is right at what time.

Use these tools as needed to build the positive person you are meant to be.

The following is a list of currently scheduled classes. This class is a two-day class worth 12 CE hours for massage therapists. Each class (unless otherwise marked) currently has a status of 'Scheduled'. This means that a date has been set, but no one has signed up for it yet. Once a deposit has been received for a class, the status will be 'Confirmed'. The schedule is as follows:

Maximize your results with less effort. Utilize the science of martial arts and apply it to massage. Advanced Body Mechanics and Techniques for Massage Therapists, is designed to reconnect the massage therapist with proper body mechanics and techniques while putting a new twist on things and showing how to get more pressure with little effort. While it does go over some basics, it takes body mechanics to a new level where every move involves the use of the therapist's entire body so they can work without hurting themselves. The class being part lecture, part hands-on practice takes positions, centering, and the proper use of body strength from Japanese martial arts and applies them to the art of massage therapy. It also shows how to focus one's energies to increase their strength with simple exercises meant to teach the student how to 'think' beyond where they are working so they can get deeper into the client and to channel their energies to the point of thought. The student will learn how to focus their energies and use their body to do deep work and not get hurt. This class will help anyone to work deeply with less effort no matter if one is 90 pounds or 250 pounds. This class is for both the seasoned therapist and the new therapist. It will show moves everyone does, but in a new light as well as moves many people may not have seen before. The idea is not to dictate how to practice, but to show better body mechanics which the therapist can adapt to what they do. This is true whether they adapt all of it or just part of it.
