A Message from our VP of Student Life and Mission
Dear Carondelet Community,
We hope that all of our students, families, faculty and staff have a restful, peaceful, and joy filled Thanksgiving break. Our community has worked hard since August, developing our minds, bodies, and spirits through academic classes, club activities, athletic competition, artistic pursuits, spiritual and religious experiences, and friendships. Thanksgiving is the perfect time to take a breath and reflect on how much one has grown, gather strength to finish the semester, and set goals for the rest of 2022.
Next Sunday, I am looking forward to sharing with you all the activities and events that we have in store as we approach finals and the Christmas break. In the meantime, enjoy this time with your family!
Blessings,
Jennifer Reinwald
Vice Principal of Student Life and Mission

Beginning in January
Please click this link to double-check the date of the retreat for which your student is registered. There is no additional cost for the retreat; it is included in tuition. Parents who have students attending the first two Shalom retreats in January should have received a communication from Campus Ministry last week with some initial information, including an invitation to the parent meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 7:00 PM in the Carondelet Library.
Waiting List
Most Shalom retreats have full waiting lists, so if your student cannot attend the retreat she is registered for, please reach out to Edie Payne ASAP so that we can fill the spot with someone on the waiting list. There is a $200 fee for canceling within two weeks of the retreat. If your student is not registered to attend Shalom, there is room on the March 27-28, 2023 retreat only. To register, complete and submit this online form.

Model United Nations Club
Stanford MUN Conference
Carondelet students attended the Model United Nations Conference at Stanford University last Veteran's Day weekend. This conference attracts high school students nationwide to participate in a simulation of the actual United Nations. Carondelet students stepped into the shoes of ambassadors from member states to resolve global issues through debate and negotiation. They spent the weekend practicing public speaking and collaborative problem-solving skills while meeting other motivated high school students from across the nation.
Carondelet is planning to attend Model UN conferences:
- Harvard Model Congress: Jan. 13-15
- UC Berkeley MUN: Mar. 3-5
If you have any questions about participating in Model United Nations, please contact our MUN Club Moderator, Phil Miller.

Middle School Christmas Concert
Uniform Updates
As the cold weather sets in, we are now allowing solid-colored outerwear jackets, coats or vests to be worn over Carondelet/De La Salle sweatshirts. This change is to ensure that students are warm enough on campus and during passing periods. Please note that flannels and non-Carondelet/De La Salle sweatshirts/fleeces are not permitted. Additionally, solid-colored tights and leggings can be worn under skirts. Sweatpants and pajamas are not permitted. We encourage students to layer up and dress for the weather.
To clarify, slippers are not allowed even if they are close-toed and/or have backs on them. Our uniform guidelines specifically state "no slippers allowed." However, Ugg-style boots and other winter boots are permitted on campus.
