A Knight's Tale | September Newsletter
Dear North Side Community School Friends,

We are off to a great start this school year. All students have completed initial assessments in math and literacy to assist our educators with implementing interventions to best support our students. The impact of the pandemic has caused great learning loss and increased the opportunity gap. We remain committed to ensure our students receive the resources and support they need to be successful.

We are very grateful to be a recipient of a grant from the Gateway Children's Charity to repair our playground at our Early Childhood Center. The initial grant was $30,000, due to the success of its' Gala, the gift has been DOUBLED to $60,000! The playground was not in use due to safety hazards. We are pleased to resume outdoor play and education thanks to this grant.

I would like to thank our Young Friends Board for hosting a successful fundraiser at Topgolf. The group raised over $16,000 to support curriculum and instruction supplies.

We look forward to a great school year. Please join us by getting involved on campus as a tutor or join our spring gala planning committee.

Sincerely,
John Grote
Executive Director

Our Early Childhood Center playground was in critical need of repair to provide a safe environment for outdoor play for our early learners. Thanks to a $60,000 grant from the Gateway Children's Charity we were able to replace the floor tiles and re-open our playground.
