October 23rd - DARKNESS - a pop-up exhibition Opening Reception 6PM- We’re celebrating Halloween, All Souls Day, All Saints Day, and Dia de los Muertos with DARKNESS – A Pop-Up Exhibition and we need you to help us celebrate. It's our first pop-up! BITES | MUSIC | ART and ALTARS. We are also creating an altar to honor your loved ones who have passed on as a special Dia de los Muertos tradition. Bring in a copy of a photo of them to add. LEARN MORE

October 28th - Cortez Power Breakfast - 8am-9am - Free and Open to the public. Networking, door prizes and a special guest speaker - Rick Scheer, GM of Ute Mountain Casino Hotel. He is going to speak on what it’s like to manage the largest employer in Montezuma County, and how they adapted and adjusted to the challenges from COVID. POWER BREAKFAST is a monthly breakfast opportunity for businesses or residents to meet and learn something of interest that helps or inspires. Hosted by the Cortez Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Southwest Colorado.

POP-UP THEME: DARKNESS

October 23rd - November 2nd

C A L L I N G all Artists! any medium, size, 2D or 3D.

Bring 1 – 4 pieces to hang or display in the Meeting & Makerspace.

Artwork Load-in 10am – 2pm on October 23.

Work must be ready to hang or pedestal ready. Work not gallery ready will not be allowed in the show. Artwork will be hung salon style on walls with picture rail system or removable adhesive as needed.

You can list your art for sale. We take a 30% commission for processing your sale. Work comes down at 9pm on November 3rd.

You must pick-up your art by November 5th at 6pm.

Startup Colorado

Founder Coopetition

ZU Gallery was recently selected to compete in a test program with Startup Colorado called the Founder Coopetition (we spelled it right). We worked with 11 other entrepreneurs in rural Colorado in a month-long program that helped us create goals and push us towards the next steps in our business. Program peers voted each week on who they thought was deserving of a certain level of funding. ZU Gallery received top honors from the other entrepreneurs and will get a $1000 award.

LOR Ambassador

Jodi Jahrling was hired to be the Photography Ambassador for the LOR Foundation for the next four months. She will be covering local events and looking for people in the community to photograph.

Listening Room

Hagen McDonell was our first Listening Room artist at the ZU.

Our hope for this new event is to bring in artists, authors, poets, comedians and anything in between to share an hour of listening time. Free to all, and a paid gig for our special performers.
