Post High School Planning Information
Please check out the new information about post high school options. Each week the 3CR (College, Career, and Community Ready) team will highlight two paths for your continued success. Links are provided within the document to help you in your decision-making process. If you have any questions please contact your school counselor or Mr. Kastner in room 1040A.
This week Seniors and their families joined us for our Virtual Senior Night with speakers from 2 and 4 year colleges, employment, apprenticeships, job training, military and gap year. If you missed the event, you can view slides from the Post High School Planning Overview Presentation or your school counselor for more information.
Next Week Is Homecoming Week!
In addition to the Homecoming Varsity Football Game on Thursday, October 7th at 7:00pm at Lussier Stadium vs. Verona Area High School, there will be a Pep Rally on Thursday, October 7th at 2:45pm, following MMSD's newly updated safety guidance for safe homecoming activities. There is an adjusted bell schedule with shortened classes for the day. We will also have Spirit Days all week. Planning is still happening for possible additional Homecoming activities. As information becomes available it will be posted to our website and shared on social media.

Updated MMSD Digital Device Guidelines
Students attending MMSD have the opportunity to access the internet, create projects, and monitor their learning using digital devices. The device is a learning tool that will be leveraged only when appropriate for meeting the learning target. The devices are intended for use at school each day. Students are responsible for bringing their device to all classes, unless specifically instructed otherwise by the teacher. Students are responsible for taking care of their device. The district has come up with these updated Family Digital Device Guidelines.
Seal of Biliteracy & Global Scholars Program
Students interested in the Seal of Biliteracy and/or the Global Scholars Program should attend the first meeting to get questions answered and get more information on the requirements of the program. These programs are great for any student that speaks (or is learning to speak) more than one language or is pursuing a global education. The meeting will be on Thursday, October 7th at lunch in room 1052. If students have questions they should reach out to either Señor Hesse or Madame Aouane.
Athletics Updates
Coach Spooner and Coach Haste will be supervising open workouts in the Weight Room Monday through Thursday afternoons from 4:15-5:30pm starting on Monday, Oct 4th. A brief fitness assessment will be required for anyone on their first day of attendance, but all students are welcome to participate. The Coaches will work with students on creating an appropriate workout, proper technique in performing the workout, and continuing maintenance for workouts.
Historical inequities involving location, transportation, and economic differences have prevented many youth from being able to access club sports, and thus prevented access to development on their own high school teams. Starlings Volleyball is a nonprofit organization that reaches kids where they are and strives to create equity through player fee payment options. Check out their flyer and tryout information. Tryouts are held at Warner Park and the program takes place at Warner Park Community Recreation Center and the Life Center Church on the East side. Virtual Information Sessions (Zoom Link, Meeting ID: 821 2021 6788, Passcode: 537003) will be held on Saturday, October 2nd at 10:00am, 1:00pm, 5:00pm and 9:00pm, and on Sunday, October 3rd at 9:00am.
Tik Tok Challenges
We are aware of the Tik Tok challenges that are going around. We understand that October is smack a staff member on the backside. Students should not participate in this challenge. We want to be very clear, if students smack a staff member, consequences that are laid out in the Behavior Education Plan will be enforced. Tik tok challenges are meant to be, and should be, fun and amusing. Causing damage to school property and harm to others is not ok.  We are better than this Purgolders!
