JEHOVAH-JIREH
___________________
We typically refer to the name of God, Jehovah-Jireh, as “God, my provider.” What is the story behind it?
It comes from Genesis chapter 22. God told Abraham to take his only “son of the promise,” Isaac, and offer him on Mount Moriah as a burnt offering sacrifice. In obedience, Abraham took Isaac and two servants along with the wood for the fire on the three-day journey to Mount Moriah. Upon arrival, Abraham put the wood upon Isaac to carry up the mountain, while he carried the fire and the knife for the sacrifice.
At the mountain Abraham built an altar. Isaac questioned him, Genesis 22:7 says, (my paraphrase) “Father, I see the fire and the wood, but where is the [sacrificial] lamb?” Abraham replied in Verse 8b, “My son, God will provide Himself a lamb…”
Abraham bound Isaac and laid him upon the altar. He raised his knife to slay the terrified boy. Then, the “angel of the Lord” [perhaps the pre-incarnate Christ] called out to Abraham to not harm the boy. God then showed Abraham a ram [male sheep] caught in a thicket to use as the sacrifice. This sheep is symbolic of the “lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world,” found in John 1:29.
Because God miraculously intervened to provide the sacrifice, saving Isaac’s life, Abraham called the place “Jehovah-Jireh,” meaning “the God who provides.” This was a miraculous provision in response to Abraham’s obedience.
We learn from this that when we are obedient to God in all things, then He will provide whatsoever it is that we need. He becomes “God, our Provider,” our Jehovah-Jireh.

THE UNDERDOG
_________________
It always amazes me that God chooses the person that man would never pick to lead his people. An underdog is defined as one who is thought to have little chance of winning, and a person who has little status in society.
In the story of David, we learn that he was the youngest son. He was not a warrior but was excellent with a slingshot. He was a psalmist, a writer of songs and a harp player. He was disliked by his brothers. He was a keeper of sheep away from the rest of his family. Yet, despite everything going against him, he had a relationship with God that his brothers did not have. He spent time listening for the voice of God, knowing he was God’s sheep and God was his Shepherd. He acknowledges his love for God through the many psalms that he wrote. David was an underdog that no one took seriously except God.
Then there is Saul, the feared enemy of the early church called “the way.” He was a murderer, and he was determined to destroy them all, until he encountered God in a miraculous way, and his life was changed. The murderer now gave mercy. God used this underdog to write most of the New Testament!
Then there are you and me. In my own case, I would say that God chose me, this underdog, to do his work in spite of myself. I have made a lot of dumb choices and mistakes in my life, yet he loves me.
You see, that is God and his mercy. He does not love us based upon what we are or do. He loves us based upon what He is! This fact is the greatest insight we can ever learn. God is love and it is his nature to love the unlovely, He loves the underdog. We could learn a lot just from that, couldn’t we?
So, the next time you feel like the underdog that others reject, remember that God has not rejected you. He loves you with everlasting love. He has carved your name in his hands. Isaiah 49:16 says, “Behold, I have graven thee [carved or perhaps tattooed] thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.” [KJV]
The Amplified reads it this way, “Indeed, I have inscribed [a picture of] you on the palms of My hands; Your city walls [Zion] are continually before Me.”
We know that the nails were pierced into the palms of Jesus and when he looks at the piercings, He is reminded of us; the broken, the sinner, the downhearted, the underdog, the unlovely, yet his love permeates all of that because of His Love.

Never make long term decisions in short term anger. You will always regret it. Guard your tongue. Speak words over yourself and others that bring life and not death!

Wednesday Thought For Today
I came across this statement that said; “our God is consistent, secure, dependable and strong.” What a true statement that is especially in the days we are in. He will never leave us and He is always there. He will be the same today and tomorrow. Hallelujah!
“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah”
Psalms 46:1-3 NKJV
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Hebrews 13:8 HCSB
“I am the Lord, and I do not change….”
Malachi 3:6 NLT

APOSTLE PAT MURRAY
PROPHETIC EXHORTATION
Always remember that regardless of what you’re walking through today; Your greatest hope down here BELOW is knowing that you have help from our Father God up ABOVE. You may want to keep these wise words of the prophet in Jeremiah 20:11 close by. “The LORD stands beside me like a great and mighty warrior. Before Him my persecutors will stumble and they will fall. They none can defeat me. They will fail and be thoroughly humiliated. Their dishonor will never be forgotten”. Now you get up and try, try and then you TRY again; For God’s got everything you’re facing under control and yes…He has you too.

BARBARA TOWER
PROPHETESS
The intentions of the Lord towards us are pure and merciful. He loves us with an everlasting love. We were created by the Creator to commune with Him and have fellowship with Him. There exists a fallen angel, Lucifer aka Satan, who desires to disrupt our fellowship with the Father. He tempts us to sin or even to curse God and die. He brings suffering and destruction to mankind. He values no soul and represents darkness and death. He plots and ensnares everyone that he can, by deception and getting their focus off God. He has a sealed destiny in Hell, and he knows it. He wants to cause many to stumble or fall in their walk with God. He wants many to be in torment with him forever in the Lake of Fire. The Good News is that we have a Savior. His Name is Jesus. He shed His Blood on the Cross of Calvary, for every sinner to be free of sin, when they believe in Him. Satan is Hell bound, but you don't have to be. This is the Best News, you will get all week! You don't have to stay in sin or hell bound! You can walk free on earth of sin's guilty stain, you can renounce sin and be free of Satan's grip on you. After this life, you can spend Eternity in Heaven with Jesus, in paradise. Your precious loved ones that have departed to Heaven, will reunite with you there. Choosing a lifestyle of sin, will rob us of the promises of God, and Satan will have taken a soul. Will you make the right choice? Sin is a fleeting pleasure that satisfies only your carnal desires, but robs you of your soul. You can choose to follow Jesus and live for Him all of your days. He stays beside you and guides you, in all your ways. He defeated death, hell and the grave [for you and me].

I Am! HCC
The Lord of life and hope, the best friend I ever
Had. He walks with me; he’s with me everywhere.
This Jesus, the Messiah, the I AM!
When tears appear he dries my eyes.
When life gets rough, he’s my guiding light.
He travels with me everywhere through the day
And night, my I AM is there. So never give up,
Or be afraid, for your maker in Heaven loves you.
And by the way, he’s waiting for you, come
What may, when life is done and you’re on your
Way, to this great “I AM.”
